BOBCATS CHEER / POM



Bobcats Cheer/Pom serves Novi Community School District youth in grades 1-8.  The Bobcats teach sportsmanship, hard work, physical and mental development, and a love for cheer and pom!    

Are there tryouts for Bobcats Cheer?
There are no tryouts.

When are practices?
Practices begin in early August.  Dates and time will be determined closer to the season. 

Where are practices held?
Practices are held at the Novi High School practice football fields.  These fields are located behind the Novi High School tennis courts off of Ten Mile Rd.

When and where are games played?
Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays.  Home games will be played at Novi High School.


How are participants assigned to a cheer squad?

Participants are assigned to cheer squads by grade.


What are the grade assignments?

Flag Cheer:  Grades 1 and 2
Freshman Cheer:  Grades 3 and 4
Junior Varsity Cheer:  Grades 5 and 6
Varsity Cheer:  Grades 7 and 8

When is registration?
Veteran:  Registration for Veterans (and veteran siblings and Flag Cheer/Pom) begins on February 1.  Veterans not registered by February 28, at midnight will lose their Veteran status and must register as a Rookie. 
Rookie:  Registration for Rookies (1st year cheerleaders) begins at 12:01am on March 1. 

How much are the registration fees?
Flag Cheer:  $175
Freshman Cheer:  $250
Junior Varsity Cheer:  $250
Varsity Cheer: $250

What equipment do the Bobcats provide? (subject to change)

The Bobcats provide 2 bows (pink and green), uniform skirt, uniform shell, uniform crop bodysuit, uniform briefs.  Cheerleaders must purchase additional items at their own cost (approximately $125).  These mandatory items include: Cheer shoes, poms, leggings, warm-up jacket (with embroidery), rain poncho, socks and gloves.  Cheer bags are available for purchase (with embroidery), but are optional.  Ordering specifics will be provided.

Do the Bobcats provide tumbling and stunting instruction?
Off-season training opportunities are available.  Please contact the Bobcats Cheer Director.
