Iowa Rush is excited to announce Will Nurre as the Youth Select Director at Iowa Rush.  As the Youth Select Director, Will is going to oversee and manage the 11-15U Select Boys and Girls teams, coaches, and players in collaboration with the Iowa Rush Select program.  As part of the Youth Select Director responsibilities, he is to ensure the club standards and curriculum are integrated across our Youth Select teams and congruent with the 9-10U Academy and Senior Select (16-19U) teams.  Will is tasked with overseeing the youth player experience cohesively with the Technical Director and Director of Coaching.  He will also continue to oversee the Alumni program, Premier Challenge League, and Rush Fest.

Kirk Artist, Iowa Rush Technical Director had this to say, “Will has shown the character, competency, and ambition to build Iowa Rush Youth programs and players to new levels.  I am very excited to work collaboratively with him into the future.”

Will spent his entire youth playing career with Iowa Rush and is an example of the core values that the club still tries to instill in its players. Will is also a graduate from Ankeny High School where he served as a 3-time captain and earned First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-State honors. In addition to his successes as a club and high school player, Will participated in ODP throughout his youth career and was a member of the Midwest Regional pool of players. After graduating, he played soccer at the Division 1 level for Drake University.  He has been coaching with Iowa Rush at all levels for 3 years.

On being given the position of Youth Select Director, Will Nurre said: “I feel very honored to be put into a position where I’m responsible for providing as good an experience as possible for our youth players. I’m committed to the long-term development of each one of our players and excited to work alongside the rest of our coaching staff to help teach and inspire the boys and girls in our club.”

The youth select girls and boys teams will continue to play in the Midwest Conference League , Club Development League, and competitive tournaments throughout the yearly calendar.  Iowa Rush will continue to strive to become the best developmental program through initiatives surrounding our mission statement.
