These two individual scholarships are in loving memory of the wonderful lives of Jake and Sydney. In their short lives, Jake and Syd touched many others by their caring attitude. This spirit will continue to live through these two scholarships. The Wittich family valued a catholic education for their children. Through these two scholarships other children will have the same opportunity. 

The St. Dominic PTO and the Wittich family are accepting applications towards the Spring of 2024.  Please keep an eye out for more information in the future.

The criteria for the scholarships are: 

• One female student returning to St. Dominic.
• One male student returning to St. Dominic.
• These two students show respect to others (both adults and classmates).
• The student’s family is active in the St. Dominic Community (school/parish) and experiencing a financial hardship. With a tough economy and tight family budgets, the family is willing to make sacrifices for their child’s Catholic education the same way the Wittich family did for their children.
• Nominations may be made by staff, family, coaches, and parishioners.
• A short essay regarding items 3 and 4 above must be included in the letter of recommendation.

• Each scholarship is worth $2,000.00.
• Application deadline TBD.

When writing your essay, please focus on the following: 

• Write an essay as to why you are nominating the fore mentioned student for a Wittich Scholarship. 
• Write about your knowledge of how the student shows respect to others (both youth and adult). 
• Write examples of how this student’s family is active in the St. Dominic Community (school/parish). 
• Write about how this student’s family values a Catholic education for their child and why this family has a financial need.
