PTO will be accepting applications for the Jake and Sydney Wittich Scholarship towards the end of April. Due to the expansion of Ed Choice, new this year, this scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000 which will be awarded to 2 male students and 2 female St. Dominic students. The scholarship is awarded to assist in either the student’s St. Dominic tuition costs OR to assist in family medical costs.
These four individual scholarships are in loving memory of the wonderful lives of Jake and Sydney. In their short lives, Jake and Syd touched many others by their caring attitude. This spirit will continue to live through these four scholarships. The Wittich family valued a Catholic education for their children. Through these four scholarships other children will have the same opportunity.
The St. Dominic PTO and the Wittich family are accepting applications towards the 2025-2026 school year.
The criteria for the scholarships are:
- Two female students returning to St. Dominic.
- Two male students returning to St. Dominic.
- These four students show respect to others (both adults and classmates).
- The student’s family is active in the St. Dominic Community (school/parish). With a tough economy and tight family budgets, the family is willing to make sacrifices for their child’s Catholic education the same way the Wittich family did for their children.
- This scholarship may be awarded to be used towards family medical bills equal to or in excess of $1,000 to help alleviate part of this financial burden. The scholarship amount will be paid directly to the medical bill.
- This scholarship may be awarded to be applied to the student's 2025-2026 school year tuition.
- Nominations may be made by staff, family, coaches, and parishioners.
- A short essay regarding items 3 and 4 above must be included in the letter of recommendation. Please note, families who are applying for medical assistance must include medical bill(s) from the family totaling $1,000.
- Each scholarship is worth $1,000.00.
- Each recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled in the 2025-2026 school year at St. Dominic.
The application deadline is TBD.
