SJEB FC JUNIOR COACH MENTOR PROGRAM The SJEB FC Junior Coach Mentor Program is available to any SJEB FC players interested in coaching in the future. Players can assist with teams 2 years or younger than themselves, for example a 2003 Player can help with 2005 and younger age groups. Junior Mentor Coaches will be assigned to a team and communicate with that teams head coach, they can attend as many or as few training sessions as your schedule allows, but we expect at least one session every two weeks to make it worth your while.
The Mentor Program works in two ways, the SJEB FC Coaches will mentor you, giving you insight into training session structure structure, tactical training, technical training, progress a training session and how to structure training over a season,In turn you will mentor the younger players in our club and influence them and be a role model. We currently have three players from the SJEB FC '06 Girls who mentor our U8 & U9 Girls teams and do a fantastic job, they are also great role models for our younger players who want to emulate them. The girls also get extra touches on the ball as they help demonstrate and teach the ball mastery and foot skills portion of the training sessions. SJEB FC hold US Soccer Grassroots coaching courses with NJYS at total turf for the 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 age groups, and we encourage our mentors to register for those courses: https://learning.ussoccer.com/ We have seen previous mentors now coaching in the South Jersey soccer community due to the confidence and knowledge gained. Refereeing and coaching are two excellent sources of income in High School and College. Junior Mentors need to be reliable, on time, enthusiastic, a good communicator, confident and have a professional appearance. If the interested player has have any questions please contact John Thompson, I will not answer any emails or calls from the parents, it has to be the player who initiates any conversation but please CC your parents.
