Welcome To Wildcat Nation!

Wayne Wildcats Flag Football Program

Flag football is an entry stage to the sport of football and an alternative to full contact football for ages 5 - 9. Flag football teaches the basic skills and concepts of the game. Our program is designed to introduce young athletes to the game while providing a safe environment to grow in the sport.

GUARANTEE DEADLINE:  Registrations after May 31 may result in a late fee and/or being wait-listed. If you need financial assistance, we do have a scholarship program available. Please reach out to [email protected] to request support.

Questions? Please reach out to our Flag Football Director, Klye Corkery at [email protected]

DIVISIONS:
Our registration system is birthday based but this program is designed to break the teams up by grade level. If for some reason your child's birthday excludes them from this group, please let us know and we can make sure to assign them manually to the appropriate grade level.

ROOKIE: Kindergarten
AFC: Grades 1-2
NFC: Grades 3-4

Flag Football Leadership will place players according to a variety of factors including geographic location, prior coach knowledge, etc.  Requests for specific team/coach will NOT be guaranteed.

SEASON:
Season / PracticeFlag football Season starts after Labor Day and runs through the last weekend of October.

PRACTICE:
Practice starts Tuesday after Labor Day and is 1-2 times per week. NFC Teams typically practice 2 times a week; AFC Teams typically practice 1 time a week. Practice days and time is determined by coaches/field assignment.  Rookies practice/scrimmage on Sundays.

FIELD ASSIGNMENTS:
We use fields across the Main Line including Radnor High School Pike field, Teegarden Park, and Wilson Farm Park. Locations will be communicated via StackTeams app and via email.

GAMES:
Wayne Wildcats provide flag belts and a game day jersey. We are now making GameBreaker soft-shell helmets available to our players. If you are interested in purchasing this helmet, please let us know in the registration. It is recommended your player also wear a protective cup and removable mouth guard that you provide.

Transitioning to Tackle Football
Players are eligible to play tackle once they are age 7 as of July 31st. Many of our 8U Tackle Team players play several years of flag football.  If you are interested in discussing the transition, please contact our Football Director, Steve Sobuto at [email protected].
