Welcome to the Milford Jr. Spartans Cheer registration! We are thrilled to have your athlete join us for the exciting 2025 fall season. We are dedicated to providing a positive environment where athletes can thrive, build leadership skills, and master the techniques of the sport. We can't wait to embark on this journey with your athlete and watch them grow both on and off the mat. 

Prior to the start of the season, please ensure your athlete has the following:
  • One pair of black cheer shoes
  • Black no show socks
Additional information regarding schedule and team placement will be provided this summer prior to the season kick off.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How much does it cost? 

The 2025 Fall Season registration fee is $225.00 for all teams with the exception of a $100.00 registration fee for the Jr. Tiny Mites.  This helps pay for our bows, game day jerseys, music, competition fees and more.

In addition to the registration fee, we require three postdated checks:
Check One: The first check is for your athlete's uniform in the amount of $250.00. The uniform check will be destroyed at the end of the season once your uniform is returned in the condition you received it.
Check Two: The second check is in the amount of $225.00. The Milford Jr. Spartans require you volunteer for a minimum of 5 events for one athlete and 3 events for each additional athlete. Exception: Flag Football and Jr. Tiny Mites are require 3 events total. Sign up early to get the shift and/or desired position. The volunteer check will also be returned or destroyed if those hours are completed. If volunteer events are not fulfilled by the end of the season, the post-dated check will not be returned and will be cashed.
Check Three: The third check is in the amount of $225.00 for fundraising. We require each athlete/families to fundraise for at least two events per season. The fundraising check will also be returned or destroyed if those hours are completed. If volunteer events are not fulfilled by the end of the season, the post-dated check will not be returned and will be cashed.

Checks may be made payable to Milford Jr. Spartans.

What items do I need to purchase for the cheer season? 

  • You will need one pair of black cheer shoes and black no show socks.

  • Practice Attire: Tumble shorts (no pockets preferred), a tank top or short sleeve shirt, cheer shoes, and hair must be in a ponytail completely out of the face. Please ensure your athlete brings a full water bottle to each practice.

  • For football games: Uniform, cheer shoes, game day bow, hair in a high ponytail. For cold morning games, you may use navy blue or black gloves if desired. Please ensure your athlete brings a full water bottle to each game.

  • For competitions: "Competition Ready" - Athletes should arrive at the competition site in full uniform, black no show socks and black cheer shoes. Hair must be pulled back in a high ponytail with fly-aways controlled with gel, hairspray or mousse. A black, metal free, hair-tie is required. Athletes are not allow to carry bags of any kind with them. Please remove any extra layers of clothing prior to your athlete entering the competition location.

Where and when do practices take place? 

Practices start the first week of August at Keyes Field. We practice at the West entrance (127 Elm St.). 
Around the last week of August, practice moves to a local school with indoor space (Exact practice location may vary by team)
Specific team schedules will be provided prior to the beginning of the season.

What do athletes need for practice? 

Athletes should arrive at practice with hair up, no earrings or jewelry, no pockets on shorts or ties on the side and no spaghetti strap tops. They should have their cheer shoes, plenty of water and bug spray/sunscreen (for outdoor practice). 

Does my athlete need to attend every practice? 

Yes! The first 3 weeks of summer will be conditioning. It is important that athletes are at every practice. If you must miss a practice, please reach out to your head coach as early as possible. Additional information regarding attendance policy may be found in the Milford Jr. Spartans Handbook.

What is required of parents?

Milford Jr Spartans have no employees.  Like most youth non profit programs, it's 100% volunteer driven. Parents are required to volunteer and fundraise in order to make the year a successful season. We highly encourage parent involvement.
