Volunteering
The Milford Jr. Spartans is a volunteer-run organization that depends on parent and guardian participation throughout the season. Volunteer opportunities may include concession stand coverage, announcing, scorekeeping, chains, raffles, field set-up, field breakdown, and additional committee support.
Volunteer hour requirements are as follows:
Tackle Football
Families are required to complete 7 volunteer hours for the first athlete in tackle football and 5 additional hours for each additional athlete in the tackle football program.
Flag Football and Sideline Cheer
Families with an athlete in flag football or sideline cheer will be required to complete 5 volunteer hours for the first athlete and 3 additional hours for each additional athlete in the flag football or sideline cheer program.
Family Maximum
Below is an example of what a 2 athlete family needs to complete for Volunteer Events:

Volunteer Hours are separate from Fundraising Events.

Volunteer Opportunities
Various volunteer opportunities will arise throughout the season; mostly on game days. The following positions are available for Game Days: Announcer, Scoreboard, Chains, Field Set Up, Field Take Down, Merchandise Table, 50/50 Raffle and on occasion photography and videography. Outside of game days volunteer opportunities may be created as needed and those opportunities will be shared on apps and/or email.
MJS has specific Volunteer Positions that require additional time commitments beyond practices, games and competitions. To honor these volunteers for their dedication to our athletes and MJS; they will have a reduction in volunteer hour requirements. Board Member; Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Parent qualify. Jr Coaches and Jr Demonstrators do not count as volunteer hours in any capacity. Volunteers for these positions must fill out a volunteer application and any other paperwork; during their athlete(s) registration via our website www.milfordjrspartans.org on or before July 31. These positions are typically for 1 season or longer, require a background check, and have specific requirements that need to be completed while in the position. If Board Member, Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Parent requirements have not been fulfilled by the end of the season, your post-dated check will be deposited. If the specific requirements have been fulfilled your check will be shredded.
