PYC's 2025 Spring Baseball registration is here! Starting Friday, November 29, baseball registration will be available online for every division, T-ball through Majors. Please see below for information on each level of play and the age ranges. If you have any questions, please reach out to our baseball commissioner, Andrew Garger, at [email protected].
T-Ball (6U):
The T-Ball program is an introduction to baseball and softball. T-Ball is geared towards our youngest players and those without previous playing experience under age 8. The focus of T-Ball is to introduce the basics of the game and ensure a fun and positive experience for players and families. Typical T-Ball Players will be between ages 4 and 7 (must be 4 before 5/1/2025). T-Ball will usually have one weeknight and one weekend practice per week before the season begins and one practice and one game per week during the regular season. Parent participation is strongly encouraged at this level of play!
Birthdates 5/1/2018 - 4/30/2021
Coach Pitch (8U):
New for the 2025 Spring Season is the Coach Pitch Division. Coach Pitch is being introduced as an alternative to Grasshopper and aimed at our younger players who are moving up from T-Ball. The rules of the game will be similar to Grasshopper; however, coaches will pitch throughout the season instead of kid pitch. This program will again encourage a fun and positive experience for the players focusing on the fundamentals of the game. Coach pitch will be a great option as a transitional division for players who are moving up “early” from T-Ball or for those at the older end of the age range without previous playing experience. Parent participation is strongly encouraged at this level of play!
Cannot Turn 9 before 5/1/2025
Birthdates between 5/1/2016 and 4/30/2018
Grasshopper (8U):
Grasshopper baseball is the first introduction to player’s pitching during games. The rules of the game are modified to keep the pace of play moving along (i.e., a maximum number of walks before a coach comes in to pitch the remainder of the inning, no leading or stealing, etc.). Grasshopper is an excellent choice for more experienced or skilled 8U players and those looking for an additional step in the transition to Biddy Baseball. Parent participation is strongly encouraged at this level of play!
Cannot Turn 9 before 5/1/2025
Birthdates between 5/1/2016 and 4/30/2018
Biddy (10U):
At the Biddy level players move to exclusive use of player pitching and are introduced to more rules of the game of baseball. Stealing and base advancement on passed balls is permitted in most instances. Biddy baseball is further divided into two divisions within the Parkland Youth League (American and National Leagues). The National League is intended for player development and the American League is slightly more competitive. The National League season concludes with an end of season single-elimination tournament that is randomly seeded, while the American League has a double elimination tournament with seeding determined by regular season performance. Teams will be fielded in the American and/or National Leagues based on our number or registered players and results of league-mandated player evaluations.
Cannot turn 11 before 5/1/2025
Birthdates between 5/1/2014 and 4/30/2016
Midget (12U):
Midget baseball continues to expand the rules of the game to our players with the addition of leading, stealing home, pickoffs, and dropped 3rd strike advancement. The field of play also grows at the Midget level from 60’ bases to 70’ bases. The pace of play in Midget is much quicker than previous levels. Midget is also broken into two subdivisions as established by the League (American and National Leagues). Again, the National League is designed to be geared towards player development and has some modifications to the gameplay including the use of 4 outfielders, and a limit of 5 runs per inning. The American League plays with 9 defensive players and does not have a cap on runs scored. The National League season concludes with an end of season single elimination tournament that is randomly seeded, while the American League has a double elimination tournament with seeding determined by regular season performance. Teams will be fielded in the American and/or National Leagues based on our number or registered players and results of league-mandated player evaluations.
Cannot Turn 13 before 5/1/2025
Birthdates between 5/1/2012 and 4/30/2014
Knee-Hi (15U):
Knee-Hi baseball begins to take on the remainder of normal baseball rules. The size of the field again grows at the Knee-Hi Level. In the National League, the bases move back to 80’ and in the American League plays on a full-size 90’ field. The National League caps runs to 5 per inning while the American League has no run limit. The National League season concludes with an end of season single-elimination tournament while the American League has a double elimination tournament. Both leagues use regular season records to determine tournament bracket seeding. Teams will be fielded in the American and/or National Leagues based on our number or registered players and results of league-mandated player evaluations.

The Majors level is for High School aged players and incorporates all the rules of baseball. Majors games are played on full 60’/90’ baseball fields. All Majors teams compete in the same division, and it is not further broken down into American and National Leagues. The season concludes with a double-elimination tournament with standings based on regular season performance.
