To all who registered for the 2025-2026 Travel Basketball Season at PYC, please see below for the tryout schedue for most levels.

Tryouts will be held at Springhouse main gym for all Travel Leagues

October 27th Monday – 3rd/4th boys and girls 6-7:00PM, 5th/6th boys and girls 7-8:00PM, 7th/8th Boys 8-9:00PM

October 28th Tuesday- 3rd/4th boys and Girls 6-7:00PM, 5th/6th boys and Girls 7-8:00PM, 7th/8th Boys 8-9:00PM

October 29^th Wednesday- 3rd/4th boys and Girls 6-7:00PM, 5th/6th boys and Girls 7-8:00PM, 7th/8th Boys 8-9:00PM

9th -10th and HS schedule will be released at a later time. Please check here for more information, as it becomes available.

It may still be summer, but we are already looking ahead to our Winter season. If you are looking to improve your athlete's skills before the Winter basketball season starts or just keep them on the court, check out these options below.

Be Better Basketball

These sessions are built to help hone your athlete's skills and have them ready for school tryouts and the rec/travel ball season. With multiple dates and times available from August 26 through October 16, there's plenty of opportunities to get that work in.

Parkland Youth Center (PYC) Basketball Programs

At Parkland Youth Center (PYC), we offer a wide range of basketball opportunities for children from Kindergarten through high school, including options for intramural play and competitive travel teams. Please register your child for the available program, if it is inaccurate due to DOB PYC will adjust behind the scenes to add them to the correct team based on grade. Reminder, in order to try out for Travel League you must be registered prior to October 20th.

Season Information:

Start Date: Practices begin in early November.

End Date: The season concludes at the end of February.

Programs for Boys and Girls:

Intro to Basketball: K-1st & 2nd:

Practice/Games are December-February on Saturday at Kratzer or Sunday at SMS

Intramural: Parkland League, Grades 3-12:

Practices held @ Kratzer, Parkway Manor, Monday-Saturday 1 hour per practice

Travel JV/Rising Star League: Grades 3-4 thru HIGH SCHOOL:

Travel, Lehigh Valley League: Biddy 3rd/4th, Jr. Cadet (5-6), Cadet (7), and Knee-hi (8-9) - practice at Troxell AND GAMES Mainly Saturday and Sunday.

Tryout Dates: Week of October 20th , Schedule TBD

Lehigh Valley Travel League:

Biddy (Grades 3-4)

Jr. Cadet (Grades 5-6)

Cadet (Grade 7)

Knee-hi (Grades 8-9)

Practices are held at Troxell with games primarily on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tryouts for Boys and Girls:

You must attend min. 1 of 3 or 4 tryouts to be considered for a spot on a Boys/Girls Travel Team:

Parental Involvement - WE NEED COACHES!!!

If you are interested in coaching, assisting, being a team parent, running a fundraiser, or obtaining a position on the PYC board, please indicate that on your child’s registration.

Can’t help on a regular basis? Please be courteous and help the coaches prior to, during, and after the games when you can. Gathering the equipment and loose clothing, keeping score, and keeping the spectators out of the halls helps a lot and lets the coaches focus on the players. All volunteers must obtain their clearances and criminal background checks prior to the season starting. Links to free background checks available here.

REGISTRATION

Late fee after 10/20/2024 is $40

All registration/payment will be done online!!!!!!!!!!! First-come first served. Teams may be closed due to numbers.

Registration Fees:

Grades K-2 $80.00 per child

Grades 3-6th Intramural $110.00 per child

Grades 7-12th Intramural $135.00 per child

All Travel Team $160.00 per child (includes Tryout fee) Must be registered to tryout

Lost Jersey Fee $40

Late Registration Fee After 10/20 $40

REFUND POLICY

NO REFUNDS: All registration fees are non-refundable once your child is registered for basketball.

Travel Team Policy: Players who register and pay for travel basketball but do not make the travel team will automatically be placed on a recreational team. No refunds will be provided for the fee difference between travel and recreational programs.
