ESLL Mission

ESLL is a 501(c) non-profit organization whose mission is to "promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League."

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, ESLL is designed to develop superior citizens first and foremost - not superior athletes.  Learning and playing baseball is a medium to learn many things - from knowing one's abilities to learning how to work hard and persevere. ESLL offers a family friendly environment where the community pulls together as we strive to work together with the common goal of developing life skills - positive attitude - respect for rules - teamwork - taking responsibility for one's actions - and sacrifice.

Teamwork
Teamwork is an extremely important aspect of little league baseball. There is no way to win or even have fun if players do not learn to play as part of a team. Most little league baseball coaches have players rotate positions to learn about each position and how it is played which further encourages teamwork. Teamwork is an important value that children learn in little league baseball but take with them throughout their lives.

Work Ethic
Another important skill that children learn while in little league baseball is work ethic. That is because they are able to see the value of getting to practice and improving their skills with every passing day. Work ethic is something children will carry with them throughout their lives. It is important for kids to understand the value in having a good work ethic at a young age so it translates to school, work, and everyday life.

Growing Up
Learning to play baseball does not happen overnight.  It takes time to develop the skills, through drills and practices.  It takes dedication and desire.  It takes patience.  It takes maturity to accept failure and learning from mistakes.  It teaches the importance of focus and listening skills.  Adults and children learn from each other.  Children learn from different coaches and styles - just as they learn from teachers and mentors.  Little league provides a unique structured environment keeping children out of trouble and on a path to adulthood through age specific programs.

Beyond Self
Baseball is a fun sport that teaches the importance of working and playing together to have fun.  But, it also teaches how we sacrifice for the greater good - putting a bunt down, advancing the runner or hitting the cutoff - focused on the shared effort it takes to play well. Little league is run by volunteers who contribute thousands of hours annually to benefit the children of our community.  We demonstrate good citizenship through service beyond self - handling responsibilities from managing equipment to field preparation.

Making Friends
Little league is a community based organization where children play with their friends - and make new friends.  Some will be life long friends.  Across Chester County and Pennsylvania, many recall their days playing baseball in ESLL.  They recall fondly their days playing at March, Carman, Cooper and Oakbourne fields.
