FAQs

The following are some frequently asked questions from families and coaches.  Please contact your divisional director or an executive board member if you have additional questions.

Registration

How do I register my son or daughter?
Follow the registration link on the home page or follow the tab that leads to additional information and a registration link for the current or upcoming season.

How much will it cost?
The cost of each season and age group varies. Spring seasons are more expensive than Fall seasons because there are more games and practices and the older divisions are more expensive than the younger due to field and umpire costs. Pricing is listed under the season tab under League Info.

What is included with registration fees?
The fees include uniform costs (team jersey and hat), field maintenance fees, insurance, team equipment costs (balls, helmets, catchers equipment and bat) and umpire fees for the older divisions.

How do I know which division to sign up for?
Each division is determined by your player's "baseball age". This number is determined by the Little League age chart posted on our website and the registration process should automatically assign your player to the correct division.

Can my child play "up" a division?
East Side Little League currently does not allow players to play up a division. The league feels each player should play in the division as determined by the "baseball age" to promote learning the proper methods of training and game play at each level of play.

What is the refund policy?
East Side Little League’s policy for registration refunds is as follows:
1) If a registrant has their registration cancelled due to their residence not being within the official boundary, they will receive a 100% refund less a $20 administrative fee.
2) If a registration is cancelled prior to the official beginning of the session, and there is no boundary issue, then 100% of the registration less a $10 administration fee will be refunded.
3) If a refund is requested due to an injury or personal/family issue after the official beginning of the session but before the halfway point of the season as determined by ESLL, a $20 administration fee will be assessed and the remaining balance will be pro-rated over the length of the season. Pro-rating will occur on a weekly basis. For example, for a $200 registration with a 10 week long season, if a registration is cancelled at any time during the 2nd week of the session the refund would be calculated as (2 weeks/10 weeks) x $200 = $40 + $20 administrative fee = $60 fee due to ESLL. The refunded amount would be $200 – $60 = $140.
4) No refunds will be issued for requests made after the halfway point of the season as determined by ESLL.

Eligibility

What happens if I have kids in different schools in different league boundaries?
If a player qualifies to participate in a Little League® program as a result of school attendance, a sibling may also participate in the same league for the duration of his/her Little League eligibility according to the Regulation II (d).

Will my kids need to switch leagues as they go through elementary, middle school and high school if their new schools are outside the boundary of their current league?
No. If attending those schools qualifies a player to participate in a league, a player would be able to participate in that league even if they have not participated in that league previously. However, if a player wishes to stay in a league, even while not attending school within the boundaries, they are welcome to do so under Regulation II (d), as long as he/she has not broken service to with league.

If I would like to use this option, will I need to get a release from the league where my child currently plays?
No. The change to the regulation does not require the player to have a release from the home league where the child currently plays.

Do we have to participate in the league where my child goes to school?
No. Players have the ability to participate in a league where they reside or where they attend school.

When registering using the school registration form, do I still need to bring my child's birth certificate?
Yes. The school registration form does not eliminate the requirement to prove age.

Does this rule include eligibility for All-Stars?
Yes. A player who participates in a league as a result of school attendance would be eligible to participate in that league with full eligibility and be eligible for tournament team selection.

Please refer to the Eligibility page or reach out to the Player Agent or a divisional director if you have specific questions that are not addressed on this page.

Coaches & Volunteers

I am interested in being a coach or volunteer, who do I contact?
East Side Little League is always looking for parents and interested individuals to help out at all levels.  Visit  the Become a Volunteer page for more details and to send us your information.  A background check is required of all volunteers.

What equipment will I need to provide as a coach?
East Side Little League will provide all coaches with a medical kit, equipment bag, team helmets, catcher's gear and a team bat. A tee will be provided for Tee Ball coaches.  Coaches will receive baseballs depending on the division and number of games but typically includes a minimum of one box of practice balls and one or two boxes of game balls.  Coaches may also receive a pitch counter and a Little League Handbook if requested.
