Where Every Player Shines, No Matter the Challenge.
The Little League Challenger Division was created in 1989 as a special division within Little League to provide boys and girls, ages 4-18 (or up to any age), with physical and intellectual challenges the opportunity to enjoy baseball alongside millions of children worldwide.
Today, more than 30,000 children participate in over 900 Challenger Divisions globally. Teams are organized based on abilities rather than age, with up to 15-20 players per team. Challenger games may include t-ball, coach pitch, player pitch, or a combination of these. Each player gets a turn at bat, and the inning ends when the roster has batted through, a set number of runs are scored, or three outs are made. Little League recommends that no score be kept during Challenger games. Players wear the same uniforms, shoulder patches, and safety equipment as other Little League players. Accident and liability insurance is available at the same affordable rates as other divisions through Little League Headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Golden Hill Little League's Challenger Division is managed by District 56 representatives, with most games held at Portola Park in La Habra.
