Golden Hill Spring Player Evaluations

All draft-eligible players will participate in the following evaluations:

Outfield: Players will field three pop flies from the left field position and make throws to second base.

Infield: Players will field three ground balls from the shortstop position and throw to first base.

Batting: Players will face three pitches from a pitching machine (pitch speed adjusted by age). After the final pitch, players will run the bases, regardless of whether the ball is put in play.

Equipment: Players must bring a baseball glove, a Little League-approved bat (USA stamped), and a helmet. Athletic attire and cleats are strongly recommended.

Check-In: Players must check in personally at the registration table before taking the field. The check-in table is located at the pavilion to the right, next to FSC2, in the bottom parking lot of FSC.

Time Slots : Players must attend their designated time slots. These will be posted HERE on January 7th, 2025

All players are required to attend player evaluations.

GOLDEN HILL DRAFT & PLAYER DIVISION PLACEMENT

The draft is a crucial part of our league, ensuring that players are placed in the division that best matches their current baseball skills. It also promotes parity across teams, creating fair and balanced rosters that foster healthy competition throughout the season. This process allows every player to be challenged at the right level while contributing to an exciting and equitable experience for all.

All draft-eligible players are assigned to teams through a draft process. T-Ball teams are formed based on requests and, when possible, by players' school affiliations. Players cannot request a specific division to play in; their placement is determined solely by the draft.

For the draft, there are certain mandatory guidelines. Players aged 13-15 must be drafted into the Juniors division, while players aged 12 are required to be drafted into the Majors division. Players aged 11 cannot be drafted below the AAA division, players aged 10 cannot be drafted below the AA division, players aged 9 cannot be drafted below the A division, and players aged 8 cannot be drafted below the Rookie division.

In some cases, 6- and 7-year-olds may not be drafted into Rookie and will be assigned to T-Ball instead. These players will receive a refund for the difference in fees between T-Ball and the higher divisions.

It is also possible that players could be drafted into the same division they played in the previous year, depending on the results of the draft.
