The start of pro

The NKSA Board initiated the PRO program in 2015 based on input and questions from both NKSA members and those outside of the club who were expressing a desire for something more than the basic Select model.  Some were looking for more training opportunities, both in season and out.  Others were looking for avenues to increased completion levels.  Many were looking for a structure that moved away from the Parent Coach model.  The PRO model was designed to provide the club and its members with a program that met their needs…and is driven to continue to develop top level players.

Defining PRO

At every soccer club there are a certain number of players that stand out based upon not only their soccer skills and their athletic ability but, also on their practice habits, their motivation and determination to achieve and to get better. NKSA Pro brings those players together to provide them with the proper training and game environment to allow them to push each other and reach their full soccer and athletic potential.

Take the NKSA Premier Soccer Program, add professional game coaches, increased training during the season, winter training, speed and agility training, more soccer events and players dedicated to learning and playing at a high level. This is NKSA PRO.

Pro Commitment

NKSA PRO is looking for players dedicated to the game of soccer and determined to work hard to get better.  This level is not for every player.  There is increased travel, training, expectations and commitment.  NKSA does encourage all players U10-U13 to participate in other sports in order to continue overall athletic development. However, from U14-U18, while participating in other activities is still a possibility, NKSA PRO players should be ready to make soccer their #1 priority.  U14-U18 PRO players should be looking to improve their ability to contribute to their high school program, and possibly continue their play in college.
