******Big South Youth Football Changes for 2015******
1. There will be 2 divisions with the following rule changes in Varsity only! 1.1. Division 1 teams will have a ball carrying weight of 160 and middle school players are eligible to play on these teams. (Duel Participation) 1.2. Division 2 teams, rules will remain the same with no middle school players eligible to play on these teams. (No duel participation) 1.3. Division 2 teams on the Varsity level will have a ball carrying weight of 135.  Meaning that anyone over 135 will have to play on the line on both offense and/or defense.
2. Each of the other three age groups will continue play as normal with their schedule being defined by the Varsity team in that program. While this change seems to only affect the Varsity age group it really does have an effect on our entire program.  Our schedule will be based off the division our Varsity team participates in.  Our Varsity team will compete in Division 2.

Big South Youth Football, Inc.

It is the objective of the Big South Youth Football, Inc. (“BSYF”) to provide a recreational outlet purely for the enjoyment of young players ages twelve and under. It is not intended to be used as a hobby for adults seeking to inflate their own egos. BYSF is also not intended to be and does not claim to be a football player-producing factory for building future stars. Its purpose is simply to provide an enjoyable recreational experience with emphasis on participation instead of perfection.

It is the policy of the Big South Youth Football to promote the development of good character and citizenship in young people through the game of football. It is the purpose of the Big South Youth Football to achieve this through fair play, good sportsmanship, and fellowship with good adult leadership. It is absolutely against our policy for any person either as a participant or a spectator to engage in arguments, to use abusive language, to harass officials, or to exhibit any behavior not in harmony with these general intentions.

VOLUNTEERS:
We are a 100% volunteer organization and we need every parent to sign up for concessions when their team is scheduled to help. Each coach will be asking for help before the first games are played. Please do your part by signing up for at least one session. Also, we do not have a clean up crew, so please help by putting your trash (and your child’s) in the trash cans throughout the park.

CONDUCT:
Coaches / Players - Any coach or player, who is removed from a game by the umpire, referee, sport committee or SFO Board member, will be suspended for the next game they were scheduled to play automatically. They will not be allowed to participate in any practices before their next scheduled game. The SFO Board will meet with the person who removed the coach/player to determine if a longer suspension (including removal from all our sports) is necessary.

Parent – Parents, please remember that we are here for the enjoyment of your children. We will not tolerate any parent being rude or confronting the umpires,  referees, the coaches (your child’s or the other teams’), the children (even their own), or any other parents. Any parent who can not abide by this rule should stay home. If a parent is asked to leave they will be banned from the SFO Park for at least one game and the SFO Board will meet to determine if a longer ban is necessary.
