Automated external defibrillator (AED) can save lives, including those of our children. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can potentially stop an irregular heart beat (arrhythmia) and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
Where to find AED equipment in FRSD schools:
- Robert Hunter: AED is located right outside of the gym (on the right ). As soon as you open the door 911 will be called.
- RFIS: AEDs are located right outside the gym door next to the large display case, and a second one is in the 300’s by the elevator.
- JP Case: AED is located down the main hallway on the left by the gyms.
- Desmares: AED is located on the right side main wall in the foyer near the front entrance of the gym.
- Barley Sheaf: AED is located as you exit the gym at Barley Sheaf into the hallway, it is on your left hand side just past the windows.
- Hunterdon Central Regional High School campus: there are multiple automated external defibrillators (AEDs) located throughout the buildings:
- Main Entrance: Near the Athletic Office.
- Theater: On the wall across from the Little Theater.
- New Gym: On the wall across from the new gym.
- Cafeteria: In the mall corridor near Cafeteria B.
- Academic Buildings: Second floor between classrooms (specifically referenced in older school documentation).
