Welcome to the 2024/25 FRYB Boys Basketball Season!

Please consider signing up to be a volunteer head coach for your child's team. There will be a coaches clinic prior to the start of the season . This year we will be using JR NBA training plans as the basis for our instruction.

1^stand 2^ndgrade-Saturdays at Robert Hunter.

11/9, 11/16, 11/23 (RFIS), 12/7, 12/14, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1

1^stgraders- 8:15am-9:30am

2^ndgraders- 9:45am-11:00am

3^rd/4^thgrade- capacity for 8 teams

Preseason: Monday 11/11 and 11/18, 6-7:30pm at JP Case Gym B&C.

Practice Mondays or Wednesdays at JP Case 6-7:30pm.

Games Saturdays at JP Case 8:30am or 9:30am 12/7, 12/14, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22

5^th/6^thgrade – capacity for 8 teams

7^th/8^thgrade- Capacity for 8 teams

Preseason: Wednesday 11/13, 7:30-9pm at JP Case Gym B&C and 11/20, 7:30-9pm at RFIS

Practices Wednesdays at JP Case 7:30-9p

Games Saturdays at JP Case 10:30 am or 11am 12/7, 12/14, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22

9/10 and 11/12- Capacity for 16 total teams.

Virtual Draft for coaches only, tentatively scheduled for 11/21. All prospective coaches must be registered as volunteers. Priority will go to parents of seniors and then which ever coach registered first. Coaches are allowed to designate one assistant coach whos player will automatically be drafted.

Games Sundays 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30.

12/1, 12/8, 12/15, 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2

There will be an end of season one day tournament. Teams will only be eligible for the tournament if they are in good standing with the league, i.e. limited to no technical fouls.

1st and 2nd grade boys and girls rec info:
The 1st and 2nd grade program will start the week of November 11th and continue each Saturday until the end of February. There are no weekday practices at this level. The sessions will be held at Robert Hunter Elementary School. The sessions will start at 8:15am and continue until early afternoon and each session will last 1 hour and 15 minutes. The first hour will be instructional and the last 15 minutes will be scrimmages.

The JR NBA Rookie Practice Plans will be the basis of the training for the season. Scrimmages and end of season games will be 3v3 half court format with 4v4 opportunities for 2nd grade.

Once teams are assigned your coach will be in contact with you with the schedule for the year. The 1st and 2nd grade player teams will play in separate divisions.

3rd and 4th grade boys and girls rec info:
As soon as coaches are identified teams can be formed and you will be notified. We will be using JR NBA Starter Practice Plans for the basis of our training. Practices are 1 and half hours. Games begin at 8 am and continue ever 1 hour and 15 minutes. Game schedules rotate weekly.

Boys will practice on either Monday, Wednesday, or Friday at 6:15 pm. Games will be played on Saturdays at JP Case.
Girls will practice on Mondays at 6:15 pm. Games will be played on Saturdays at JP Case.

5th and 6th grade boys and girls rec info:

High School rec info:
Once again FRYB will be running a Rec league for both boys in grades 9-12 and for girls in grades 9-12. Games will start the beginning of December and the League will run to the end of February. Games will be played on Sundays at the Old and New Wood gyms in the
Upper School. Due to gym constraints we are unable to provide practices for the teams at this level.

Boys 9th and 10th grade will play together and 11 and 12th grade will play together.

Please register early as every year we have a waitlist. Please familiarize yourself with our rules which can be found on our website. Pay particular attention to our technical foul rule! Per the HS Basketball coaches, HS team players are not allowed to play rec basketball during the basketball season.
