Newtown Edgmont Fall Ball 2024 FAQs:
1. Where do I register? Use our Online Registration page
2. When is the fall registration deadline? August 23rd
3. When will the season start & end? The season will start on Sept 9th and end on Nov 1st from Farm - Majors. It will start on September 6th for Rookie.
4. Does my child have to participate in NELL Spring season to eligible? Registration is opened first to NELL players, and then available slots are open to others from neighbor leagues
5. What player ages are eligible to play fall ball? For the 2024 fall ball season, we plan to offer teams for anyone fall ball league aged 5-12.
6. What is the players "little league age"? Players will play in the age group that they will be for the 2025 season. In other words, Players "league age" is determined by their age on August 31, 2025. The Little League 2025 Age Chart can also serve as a guide.
7. What are the fall ball divisions?
a. We plan to have four levels of play this year.
i. Rookie: 5,6,7s
ii. Farm: 8s (Banana Ball Pilot)
iii. Minors: 9s & 10s (Banana Ball Pilot)
iv. Majors: 11s & 12s

9. When are the games?
a. For the 5-7 age group, games are on Friday nights
b. For the 8-12 age group games are on Monday- Thursday at 5:30 & 7:30
10. Are there practices? Due to field availability, NELL will not provide field time for practices. However, practicing at other locations is at the discretion of the manager.
11. What does it cost? Registration fees vary with the player’s age.
a. 5/6/7 Year-Old Rookie Ball: $125
b. 8/9/10 Year-Olds: $150
c. 11/12 Year-Olds $175
12. How are teams formed?
i. Team Assignments will be at the discretion of NELL for the Rookie league (Rising 5,6,7s)
ii. Evaluations will held for Majors: Rising 11s & 12s
iii. The need for Farm (Rising 8s) and Minor (Rising 9 & 10) division try-out will be determined at a later date.
13. When are player evaluations held? Evaluations will be held the week from Sept 3rd - 5th.
14. What if the fee is a financial hardship and I can't register in time? Please contact us at registration@nellbaseball.com
15. After I register, when will I hear from you next? All player's parents will hear from the league about next steps in late August
16. What equipment does my player need to have to play at NELL? We ask that all kids have their own helmet, bat, and glove. In Farm, Minors, and Majors bats must be on the USA Baseball approved bat list https://usabat.com/ . NELL recognizes the rising cost of equipment and encourages parents to contact us if they need help securing the proper equipment.
17. What does my registration fee pay for? Registration fees cover, in part, the cost of the team equipment, player's uniforms, field expenses, insurance, umpires at games (9-year-olds and up), and required background checks of the coaches. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.
18. Why do registration fees vary with age? Older players’ uniforms and equipment are more expensive, they use far more baseballs over the course of the season and upper division teams have umpires at games.
19. Do you need volunteers? Yes! We gladly accept offers to help with coaching, umpiring, fundraising and special events. Please check the box to volunteer in one of these areas when you register your child online and we will contact you before the season starts.
