WWSO offers an additional option for recreational softball players looking to play more softball at a more competitive level of play than recreational softball called Sunday Select. Sunday Select tryouts occur during the winter and are available for a variety of age groups in the recreational WWSO program. Players who make Sunday Select teams must play in a minimum number of recreational games during the season to be elligible to play on the Sunday Select team in addition to the commitment of additional Sunday Select practices during the week and Sunday games on the weekends. Travel players are not permitted to play on Sunday Select teams, but can play the regular in-house recreational WWSO league if they wish.

Sunday Select teams play other Sunday Select league teams within the area (most games are within a 30-minute radius of Barness Park). Sunday Select is a great option for players looking to compete at a slightly more competitive level of softball than the WWSO league, but do not wish to commit to a more rigorous level of softball and schedule that is seen at the travel softball level of Blue Thunder. Many Sunday Select players do move on to play on travel teams as their level of skills, interest, and ability advances.
