What is Sports Connect?  
It's a sports team management tool like SportsEngine and a bunch of other apps/sites you might be using for other activities.  Little League (nationally, not just SLPLL) has partnered with them to include a centralized registration system.  You could compare this to Sports Engine which SLPLL historically used and will still use in 2025 for Dibs (Volunteer hours, Field claiming, umpires).

What is Game Changer?
Game Changer is also an app that Stack Sports acquired (also from Dicks Sporting Goods) and is now integrated with Sports Connect for Little Leagues to use.  This will be used for team messaging and RSVP for games/practices.

What is Stack Sports?
Stack Sports is the 'back end' for Sports Connects products, so for example, you may see this when you are using the log-in or see other references to Stack Sports products.  

What is BlueSombrero? 
Sports Connect is the rebrand of the Blue Sombrero team management site that was a Dicks Sporting Goods product.   You will see Blue Sombrero in places but you can assume this is Sports Connect.

Accounts

SLP Little League uses a tool called Sports Connect to manage registrations, communication, and this website.  You must have an account (as a parent/guardian of a player) to register.  Additional parents/guardians can be added with their own log-in.  

IMPORTANT: Remember the email you used to register.  A common problem for parents when they believe they are not receiving communication or are unable to find their player's registration/team info is from using the wrong email address that they used to sign-up (e.g. work email addresses). 





Registration

Registration starts at the beginning of January each year and runs through mid March.  Please register ASAP as evals and team creation starts after the first week of March and spots may not be available afterwards.  

Register on this site after you signup (new) or log-in (past year participants).  During the registration period, program division levels will be available based on your child's birthdate.  Note that the age range is based on the Little League age guides and your player may be in an level before their actual birthday (e.g. Kid Pitch AA 9 division, but yet age 8 right now).  Find more on our registration page info. 

Worried if your player is registered or waiting on team assignments?  Please log-in and check your dashboard.  It will show your player(s) and if they are registered for a level, in addition to being assigned to a team yet.

Season

Watch for emails and website home page news posts for important dates and updates. 

The season starts games around the 3rd week of April usually for kid pitch and early may for younger machine pitch.  

Winter practices for age groups are scheduled with as much notice as possible for gym time.   Watch for notices.

Teams are created in mid March (Kid Pitch) and early April (Machine Pitch) based on evaluation and previous year data to make equal, balanced teams as best possible.  Neighborhoods and schools are used more for Machine pitch teams.  We do not collect friend requests. 

The league will announce when teams are available and posted.  After this, please look for team Head Coaches to use team emailing for additional practice and team events.  

Teams / Season

Once your player is assigned to a team, you will find that team in the Team Central tab on this website.  You must be logged in to see the team, roster, coaches, schedule, etc.  You will also see this on your account dashboard page.   If your player is not yet assigned to a team, you will not see the teams in the Team Central.  

Communication

League emails will be sent based on user accounts on this site and based on players registered, assigned to teams at the different levels.  If you do not have a log-in on this site and associated to a player, you won't get emails.    

During the season, once teams have been created, please look to your team Head Coaches for practices, game information, etc.  

News and other league wide info will be posted to the News section on this website's home page.     

Conduct

Please see our Conduct Policies page for player, parent, and coach conduct policies.  By participating in St Louis Park Little League, you agree to abide by these policies.

Coach / Team Communication

Coaches are able to use Sports Connect to bulk email team contacts.  (If your player is on a team, each contact for them will receive emails)

Teams should also use the Sports Connect mobile app called 'GameChanger' for messaging and practice/game RSVPs.  Your HC will import and sync the team.  Once this happens, you may search for your team.  You must use the exact same email address as your Sports Connect log-in (this site).

Note: Coaches may choose to use GameChanger to keep live game scoring, but this is optional and up to each set of coaches.
