Staff Code of Conduct


1. All Coaches, Flag, Football, Cheer, Volunteers will abide by a Code of Conduct which.
      includes the following provisions. If any of these rules are broken, the SDUAA/SD Bolts shall have the authority to impose a penalty.

2. I will not smoke and/or use smokeless tobacco on the field.

3. I will not criticize any player/cheer participant in front of spectators, but reserve constructive criticism for late, in private, or in the presence of team/squad members if others might benefit.

4. I will accept decisions of the game officials and judges on the field and in competitions as being fair and called to the best of that official/judges ability.

5. I will not criticize an opposing team, its players, cheer participants, Coaches or fans by word of mouth or by gesture.

6. I will emphasize that good athletes strive to be good students and that both are physically fit and mentally alert.

7. I will strive to make every football/cheer activity serve as a training ground for life and a basis for good mental and physical health.

8. I will emphasize that winning is the result of good TEAMWORK.

9. I will not engage in excessive sideline coaching and shall not leave the bench area to shout instructions from the sidelines.

10. I, together with team officials will be jointly responsible for the conduct and control of team fans and spectators.

11. I will not use abusive or profane language at any time.

12. I will make every effort to let all players play.

13. I will not receive any payment, in cash or kind, for services in SDUAA/SD Bolts. This includes any coach, expert, consultant, or choreographer, regardless of his/her roster status.

14. I will not recommend or distribute any medication, controlled or over the counter, except as specifically prescribed by a participant’s physician and approved by the parent.

15. I will not permit an ineligible player or cheerleader to participate in a game.

16. I will not incite unsportsmanlike conduct.

17. I will remove from a game or practice any participant when even slightly in doubt about his/her health, whether or not as a result of injury, until competent medical advice is available.

18. I will assist with control of fans, I know that as a staff member within this SDUAA/SD Bolts, I am responsible for my team, and fan reaction will usually be in step with my actions and attitude.

19. I will uphold all rules, regulations, and policies of SDUAA/SD Bolts.

20. I hereby release and hold harmless from liability SDUAA/SD Bolts, the Officers, employees and volunteers thereof, or any other person or organization that may provide information on my background.
21. I understand that I have no right, claim or cause of action of any nature or any relief, including any claim seeking monetary damages from SDUAA/SD Bolts, its officers, volunteers or agents if my application is denied.

22. I understand that if appointed as a volunteer, my appointment is at will and I can be terminated prior to the expiration of my term, and that I am subject to suspension by the SDUAA/SD Bolts for any violation of the SDUAA/SD Bolts policies or principles.

23. Note: The SDUAA/SD Bolts and Affiliated Associations will not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

24. I understand that SDUAA/SD Bolts have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY concerning alcohol, drug use, fighting or inciting to riot, AND THAT I CAN BE REMOVED from SDUAA/SD Bolts permanently if found guilty of violating that policy. This policy extends to my attendance of a practice or a game at any field within the SDUAA/SD Bolts area.

25. I understand that this policy extends from the first practice/game of the day until the last practice/game of the day.
