Fort Mill's home for scholar athletes is the Carolina Copperheads: A Pop Warner Organization

Carolina Copperheads

Building Athletes. Developing Confidence. Creating Community.

The Carolina Copperheads offer a structured youth football program for athletes ages 7–13, focused on skill development, teamwork, and character.

As part of a Pop Warner program, we follow nationally recognized standards that prioritize player safety, fair play, and age-appropriate development, ensuring every athlete has the opportunity to grow both on and off the field.

Age-Based Divisions

We organize teams by age to ensure proper development and competitive balance:

  • 8U Division (Ages 7–8)
  • 9U Division (Ages 8–9)
  • 10U Division (Ages 9–10)
  • 11U Division (Ages 10–11)
  • 12U Division (Ages 11–12)

Each division is designed to meet athletes where they are, whether they are new to football or building on existing experience.

What Every Athlete (And Their Families) Can Expect:

Skill Development First
We focus on teaching fundamentals the right way—from proper technique and conditioning to understanding the game.

Equal Opportunity to Play
Through Pop Warner's Minimum Play Requirement (MPR), every athlete gets meaningful game experience.

Structured Practices

  •  Days: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday evenings
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: Game days or team activities

Certified Coaching
Our coaches are USA Football-certified and trained to develop athletes safely, positively, and effectively on and off the field.

Safety is Our Priority

We take a proactive, structured approach to player safety:

  • Heat safety protocols using Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT)
  • Real-time lightning and weather monitoring
  • Practice modifications based on conditions
  • Emphasis on proper technique and injury prevention

Your child's safety is not an afterthought; it's built into everything we do.

Communication You Can Count On

Informed families are confident families, which means you'll have:

  • Organization communication through email
  • Team communication through GameChanger
  • Timely updates on schedules, weather, and changes
  • Clear expectations from coaches and leadership
  • Support from team staff and volunteers

More Than Just Football

At the Carolina Copperheads, we're focused on developing more than athletes.

We're building:

  • Confidence
  • Discipline
  • Teamwork
  • Accountability
  • Lifelong friendships

Because what happens off the field matters just as much as what happens on it.
