Little League Bat Regulations (don't buy a bat until you read this!)

Please note that as of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use for prior seasons will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018.

General Bat Safety
Little League Rule 1.08: THERE IS NO ON DECK BATTER
The ONLY player permitted to swing a bat is the batter up to the plate.
Neither outside the dugouts, nor inside the fenced dugouts, should any player be swinging a bat.

Coaches, Managers and Parents:   Please assist each other in keeping an eye out.  As discussed in our safety briefing, the batting team is often focused on the field with no one to monitor the dugout behind him.   The opposing team manager is asked to stop play to politely correct any player swinging a bat in or near the dugouts.
Lack of supervision can result in this:  dontswingposter.pdf
