Travel Player Development Academy
(for all travel players - U9 through U12)
Philosophy:
Players who are comfortable with the ball will make better decisions, and, in turn, will enjoy the game more. The GFSC Travel Player Development Academy is geared toward improving technical abilities in players through top-quality training. Our philosophy is ball mastery and creativity. We will train players to become more confident within touching distance of the ball. Academy staff will focus on topics such as first touch, 1v1 moves attacking and 1v1 defending, turns, fakes and feints and how to effectively use these in games. Players will be encouraged to take risks and try moves with plenty of repetitions in 1v1 situations. Small-sided games will allow players to experiment in game-like situations. Coaches will be encouraged to run dynamic sessions that challenge players and provide a fun environment as well.
Objective:
The goal of GFSC Development Academy is to improve players’ technical abilities within the tactical implications of the game. Players will work on ball mastery in a challenging and fun environment.

Striker Academy
(for strikers)Philosophy:
Striker Academy is designed to give players more experience around the goal and to help players gain the tools necessary to be effective as individual and partnered strikers.
Objective:
This program focuses on the fundamental technical and tactical aspects of being a goal scorer. Technical areas of focus include proper ball striking, shooting for power and accuracy, creative dribbling around goal, and making space to shoot. Tactical areas of focus include making proper runs, playing with your back to goal, and linking up with teammates.
Striker Academy will not be offered in Spring 2018.

GK Academy(for goalkeepers)
Philosophy:
GFSC Goalkeeper Program focuses on the overall performance of each individual Goalkeeper by delivering technical and tactical training tools to improve one of the most important positions on the soccer field. We do this by creating a positive yet challenging environment that stretches the Goalkeepers towards their potential. Our primary focus is to help guide our athletes with the knowledge, courage, leadership skills, and proper specialized positional training to perform at their optimal level.
Objective:
The GFSC Goalkeeper program is a position specific training environment that focuses on technical improvements in areas of neuromuscular connectivity, ball handling, footwork, core strength, mental & physical strength, as well as tactical soccer strategies.
GK Academy will not be offered in Spring 2018.Please bring proper GK equipment for training:

* Proper training gear/attire (long sleeves and long pants)
* Inflated ball
* Water
