REGISTRATION FOR ANY DYAA REC PLAYER:

Fall, 2020 Season:  9/12/20 through 10/24/20

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZATION:

1)     Your registration will not be processed unless ALL QUESTIONS have been answered.  Registrations must be completed by July 13th to guarantee placement.

2)     Parents will receive a full refund of their fee if COVID-19 results in DYAA not being permitted to begin the fall soccer season.

3)     If your child registered to play this past spring (2020), you know that the entire spring season was cancelled due to COVID-19. If you had not previously requested a refund check, you will now receive a credit when you register for the fall season.  Specifically, you will be sent a 5 digit code via email. Once you go into the system and register your child, it will bring you to the “check out” window.  There will be a box asking for any “coupon code”….that’s where you will enter the 5 digit code we’ll soon be sending you.  Once you enter the code, your credit will automatically be deducted from the total due.

4)     State and federal regulations were recently created requiring all parents and coaches to be trained on several health/safety matters.  Completion of this training must be documented for every parent and coach…and each league must then prove (to their state league and insurance carrier) that all participants completed the training.  Here are the requirements:

a.      Parents:  Parents must complete an on-line training module about a) warning signs for sudden cardiac arrest (Lindsay’s Law) and b) concussions in sports.  This will take approximately 5 minutes and is free of charge.  These training modules are included when you register…you complete the training then and there. The player’s registration will then be processed and the player can participate.

b.      Coaches:  Coaches must complete the two training modules described above plus they must complete the SafeSport on-line training module which teaches about abuse and other forms of misconduct in sports.  Coaches must then complete a background check re: child abuse/endangerment (also free of charge).  Upon completion, DYAA is notified that the training and background check requirements have been met and the coach’s player registration will then be processed and the coach and player can participate.

5)     Beginning this fall, DYAA Rec teams will be formed based on the player’s age (birth year)not their grade level in school.  This will balance out the teams even better than before.  For example, when our lottery system formed teams by grade level, some teams ended up with more older kids than other teams (giving some teams an unfair advantage).

6)     NOTE For parents of a child born in 2017:  If your child is at least 3 years old by July 1, 2020…AND is potty-trained…then you can register your child for DYAA soccer for this fall, 2020 season.

7)     NOTE For parents of a child going into the 6th grade:  Regardless of birth year, if your child is going into the 6th grade this fall, he/she is eligible to play on one of DYAA’s teams in the Middle School Soccer Association league (MSSA). However, if your child is not ready for, or interested in MSSA, then you should register your child in the U10/U11 league, not in the MSSA league as shown below.

8)     The following chart will show you which league you should register your child in:
