Arbutus Little League - Since 1953, everyday is a hit

Coaches Corner

Dealing with "The Jitters":

  • Pitchers - Pretend that the catcher is your parent and try to remember their calming, reassuring voice.
  • Turn the negative into positive by saying "I'm excited" instead of “I’m failing”.
  • Babe Ruth once said (implied) "Every swing brings me closer to a hit".
  • The really good professional players have a batting average of 30% (0.300).  That means 70% of the time they fail to get a hit and get on base.
  • "You are not born perfect.  You learn to be perfect by practicing." Anonymous
  • "The most certain way to succeed is to try just one more time.” Thomas Edison.
  •  "I never lose - I either win or I learn." Anonymous
