Registration for our Fall Baseball Season is now open at LYBO.org! We are excited to again offer an instructional, competitive, and fun fall season from t-ball through 16U. Below you'll find some details about the season and program. If you have any questions, please let us know. Be sure to share this information with your neighbors and friends as well. Registration will remain open through August 7th.
Fall Ball Approach: The Fall Ball season is designed to be instructional, player development focused, and fun. We want kids to enjoy the game of baseball, improve their skills, and continue playing in the spring. It's also a great opportunity to be matched on teams with friends and compete against classmates and others throughout the community.
Fall Ball Timeline: Registration is now open through Sunday, August 7th. Teams will form and practices will begin the week of August 22nd (or earlier) with games beginning after Labor Day and running through October.
Fall Ball Season Details: Games will take place on Saturdays for all age groups (with the potential for the occasional Sunday games for the 12U and above ages). The majority of games will take place in Loveland, primarily at Loveland Middle School and Home of the Brave Park. We aim for an eight-game season with a few weeknight games as well. One practice will be held during the week for the majority of age groups.
Fall Ball Volunteers and Coaches: As you register your kids for the fall season, please consider signing up as a volunteer or coach as well. We provide coaches with detailed instruction on running practices and managing the team overall. Fall Ball is a great time to get involved. For questions about coaching or helping out in general please email [email protected].
Fall Ball Logistics: Each player will be provided with a uniform (shirt, hat, pants) and equipment is provided for each team. You just need a glove, cleats and a desire to play ball (most kids do also bring their own bats and helmets but the league does provide those for each team as well).

Are games Sat or Sun (or weeknights)? Most games will be played on weekends with a few weeknight games during the second half of the season for some age groups. The majority of games will be played on Saturday with a few on Sunday across a variety of age groups. Where are practices held? All practices are held in Loveland on Loveland fields such as Home of the Brave, Loveland Middle School, Stottmann field at Kiwanis Park, Phillips Park, and potentially 1-2 others. Will all games take place in Loveland? Games are held on the same fields as practices with some age groups (10U and above traditionally) playing a few out of house games against teams from Mason, Lebanon, Goshen or other local communities. In those instances, teams will travel for games but those are usually within 20 minutes of Loveland. How many teams are there in each age group? The number of teams will be determined by overall registration numbers at each age group. Ideally, we will have teams of 11-12 players for 8u and above with smaller number per team for the younger ages (more reps, less waiting to play). Some age groups will play teams in neighboring communities if we only carry a few teams overall. Traditionally, we have fewer teams in fall ball than we do in the spring. What are the date ranges for each age group for Fall Ball? The registration process at LYBO.org should default your child to the correct Fall Ball program. We aim to offer 6U (tball), 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U. What do the registration costs cover? Registration fees include field permits, field maintenance and related equipment, uniforms, umpire fees, equipment such as bats, catchers gear, pitching helmets, baseballs, etc., and other baseball related costs such as field improvements. LYBO Board positions, coaches, league coordinators, and related roles are all volunteer positions. What equipment am I responsible for? LYBO provides uniforms, bats, baseballs, pitching helmets and has a few batting helmets available for each team. Players are responsible for a glove and an openness to practice and learn. Most players at all levels tend to also purchase and bring their own batting helmets, bats, and cleats but these are not mandatory. Will there be evaluations before teams are formed? There are no tryouts for LYBO recreation level baseball (Fall Ball and Spring Ball). We aim to form teams that are balanced based on previous experience and age. What is the Fall Ball season calendar? Fall Ball registration runs through mid-August with teams being formed at that time. Practices will begin before Labor Day with games starting after Labor Day and running through late October. A specific practice and game schedule will be provided for each team. Who coaches the teams? YOU DO! One of the best aspects of the LYBO program is the ability for parents and family members to volunteer as coaches, assistant coaches, and a variety of other roles. Simply put, without coaches we don’t have a league. You don’t need to be a baseball expert to participate. Most teams will have at least two coaches and the league provides a complete binder (Coaches Binder) that outlines practice plans, tips and suggestions, and other useful information to assist with coaching a team (Coaching Guide). You can sign-up as a volunteer when registering your child at LYBO.org. Who do I contact with questions? Brian Nestico is the 2023 Fall Ball Coordinator. You can contact him at [email protected]
