VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

ALL VOLUNTEERS at South Marple must complete and submit the required Pennsylvania State and Little League International background checks and clearances.

The required items are as follows:

• PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK

  • After completion, you will receive a pdf that you will send via email.  

• PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE 

  • This can take a few days or up to a week to receive the clearance. 

  • Please pay attention to your inbox for an email that will allow you to log back on and download the clearance. 

• FBI Check- Two Options

  • If you have been a resident of PA continuously for the past 10 years, complete the disclaimer. 

    • The signed disclaimer below affirms there are no charges in other states that would prohibit your selection as a volunteer. Please scan the clearance document and either print or email the document. Child Youth Protection

  • If you HAVE NOT lived in PA continuously for the past 10 years

    • You need to go to a location for fingerprinting and then you can submit the check. Please scan the clearance document and either print or send a digital copy. https://uenroll.identogo.com

• JDP- LITTLE LEAGUE BACKGROUND CHECK 

  • You MUST indicate your intent to volunteer on Sports Connect (registration site) or you WILL NOT get this background check. 

  • JDP will send you an email with a link to complete the background check.

    • The email will come titled: SOUTH MARPLE LITTLE LEAGUE Background Questionnaire Notification

    • Please complete it as soon as you receive the email from JDP. 

    • You do NOT need to submit a paper copy of the Little League Background Check. SMLL Receives notification when a check is complete.

• Little League Abuse Awareness Training (replacement for USA Baseball)

  • Required yearly. Please follow the directions CAREFULLY:

    • Go to Abuse Awareness Training Course - Little League

    • Have an account- Log In

    • Don’t have an account-  Create an account 

      • You will then get an email with a temporary password. Once you get that, follow the prompts to reset your password. 

    • Once signed in- Under “Courses” go to “All”

      • Select “Abuse Awareness Training Course” and “+enroll”

      • Please note- The site will show you the “Diamond Leader” training first- you DO NOT have to complete this one. 

    • Complete the training, DOWNLOAD the certificate and send it via email. 

Some important notes: 

• State clearances are valid for 5 years and must be provided before service begins. 

• Paper copies are required for new volunteers or those with expired clearances. 

• The JDP Little League Volunteer Background Check and Abuse Awareness Course are done online annually.

Due Date for Submission: ASAP and the latest is 

SATURDAY, March 7, 2026
