Player Participation Commitment Statement

South Marple Little League is committed to providing every player with a fun, positive, and competitive baseball and softball experience. A key part of that experience is consistent player participation, which helps teams practice effectively, play safely, and support one another.

We ask that players make every effort to attend all scheduled practices and games. We understand that illness, family events, and unavoidable conflicts do occur, but these should remain the exception.

To promote fairness and consistency across the league, the South Marple Little League Board of Directors recently adopted a minimum participation requirement of 75% attendance for scheduled games and practices (for example, 9 of 12 games).

If a player does not meet the 75% requirement, they may be ineligible for:

• Playoffs

• Tournament teams

• Special events (such as the Home Run Derby)

• Registration for the following season, pending Board review

This policy is not meant to punish families. Rather, it helps ensure a positive team experience for all players by encouraging commitment, teamwork, and clear communication.

What we ask of families:

• Make every effort to attend all practices and games

• Update availability in GameChanger (or your team’s primary communication tool) as early as possible

• Communicate promptly with coaches about absences

By prioritizing attendance and communication, we can create the best possible baseball and softball environment for everyone involved.
