SafeSport Training - Required for all Coaches

All coaches within our league are required to complete an annual SafeSport training course. This must be completed prior to your team’s first practice. Please contact your club’s registrar with questions. 


What’s SafeSport? 

A comprehensive overview of the facts, principles and strategies that help you provide a safe and positive youth sports environment for our players. This certification training is required for all volunteers and must be completed annually. The first time that the course is taken is the full training (90 minutes). Each time thereafter is the refresher course (30 minutes). Coaches who completed the training in the Spring of 2025, you have already fulfilled this season’s requirement and do not need to take either course. If you completed your last training for the Fall 2024, you will need to complete the refresher course.

Your First Name, Last Name and Email MUST match exactly what is in your club’s registration portal for your training certificate to load into the system. If your first name is William, then that’s what you want SafeSport to have as well – not Bill. If you are unsure how your information is entered, please reach out to your club’s registrar to confirm. As a backup, please download your completed certificate and have it on hand, just in case. For any questions regarding issues with your SafeSport account, please contact them directly

RETURNING REGISTRATIONS:

  • Visit https://safesporttrained.org?KeyName=JJFAQsQPWNRj01edWcPr and click on the login button at the top right of your screen. 

  • Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog”. 

  • Click the Start button for “Refresher 1: Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct” to complete the course. 

  • Download your certificate, instructions below. 


Instructions for downloading a certificate:

  • Select the “Menu” icon at the top right of your page. Select “Transcript”. 

  • Once the transcript page displays, locate the most current completion for the course under the “Certificates” section. 

  • Download the certificate by selecting the "Download” button at the right of the completed course. 

Risk Reduction




Make sure all players are warmed up correctly. Your pre-game stretch should be a DYNAMIC STRETCH. This means all stretching is done with MOVEMENT not standing still and stretching. At the end of the game try to have your players stretch again BUT this time it is a STATIC stretch meaning standing still.

Ask parents before the season starts if their children have any potential health concerns.

Risk Management: Coaches and staff should always follow the 2 adult rule. Never be be alone with a child always have at least one other adult with you at all times.
