Winter 2025-2026 Basketball
3rd-8th Grade Leagues
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 10/29/25
3rd-4th Grade Recreational Leagues
Teams play 10 league games often against other local communities (Central Linn, Jefferson, etc.). Teams are formed using school attended and schools may be combined if there are not enough players from one school to form a team. Practices/games are typically weeknights with some potential Saturday games.
Cost is $110 per player
5th-6th Grade League
Teams will be formed by middle school attending and/or high school district. Evaluations are utilized to help make sure participants are playing at a skill level that fits their abilities. Any participant that doesn't attend evaluations will automatically be placed on a recreational team. Teams play 12 league games in the Valley League (Corvallis, Lebanon, Jefferson, etc.). If numbers/skill level allows, our goal is to form both Rec and Competitive teams from this grade level.
Cost is $125 per player
7th-8th Grade Leagues: New this year - GAPS is offering 7/8th grade Rec league options through each middle school. Please contact your child's middle school directly for more information regarding these leagues.
The BGCA will continue to offer our traditional 7/8th grade league for the boys that do not play on a Future Redhawk or Bulldog tournament team. We will start practices in mid December so this program does not conflict with the GAPS boys season that goes mid October through mid December so players could participate in both if they would like.
7/8th grade Girls - With only 3 total teams last year, we recommend 7th & 8th grade girls to participate in their middle school's league for this season. We are unable to guarantee enough participation to have a league, so we feel the best course of action is to steer families to the GAPS league, which is in January/February. The BGCA will still offer evaluations for 7th & 8th grade girls, and if there is enough players and skill level to form tournament teams at each grade level we are happy to help facilitate that.
Traditional 7/8th grade boys league format - Teams will be formed by middle school attendance/high school district and evaluations will be used to create teams based on skill level. These teams will play 12 league games plus play-offs. 7th and 8th grade players will be combined when creating these teams.
Cost is $135 per player
Tournament Teams - Your source for Future Bulldogs and Future Redhawks tournament teams!
Players from the 5th-8th grade divisions are eligible to attend evaluations in order to compete on a tournament team. These teams do not play in a traditional league, but instead attend 6 OAB tournaments throughout the season. If teams want to attend more tournaments, the cost would be in addition to the fee already paid. Once teams are set, 5/6th grade families pay the additional fee if they are placed on a tournament team. 7/8th grade families will pay the full amount up front and if their child does not make a tournament team, a refund will be issued.
Cost is $260 per player. Player fee goes towards tournament entries, full uniforms, equipment, etc.
All evaluations will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Albany. Please have your child attend the evaluation based on their current grade, gender, and the high school district they reside in.
