Hoop Jam



Hoop Jam, a 3-on-3 street basketball tournament, will be held at 
Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. Next year's tournament is scheduled for August 15-16, 2020. Hoop Jam is a great way to focus on youth, community building, and character development through an athletic venue. We anticipate over 3,000 players and families will be enjoying all that Albany has to offer during Hoop Jam. As is true for all of the Boys & Girls Club of Albany’s events and programs, the youth are the true benefactors. 


Hoop Jam 2020 will be August 15th & 16th!!

Registration will open June 1, 2020.

2019 Rule Updates/Changes

There have been a few changes made to the rules for Hoop Jam 2019 and we want to make sure you are aware of them prior to the tournament.

1. Players may only participate on one Hoop Jam team. Teams may not add additional players from any other team in the current Hoop Jam tournament.

2. In overtime, the first team to score 3 points wins.

3. Fouls (excluding offensive fouls) result in 1 free throw, except on successful field goals, in which case the basket counts and no free throw is awarded.

4.During the last 2 minutes of the game all fouls are 2 shots and possession changes. If the foul is on a shot attempt a standard "and one" scenario will be in play.

5. Timeout with free throws- clock does not start until free throws are done/change of possession. 

How to Register a Team

In order to register a team/teams for Hoop Jam, please follow these steps:

1. Login or Create a User Account
2. Click on Volunteer at the top of the page (You may be prompted to click another button that says Find Volunteer Roles.)
3. Click Select for the Hoop Jam program
4. Find the correct division(s) and click Sign Up  then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Continue.
5. Click Yes to proceed in creating your team.
6. In this step you will be able to appoint yourself or another user on your account as the head coach.
7. Please fill out the form including the team name in order to create your team.
8. You will then be taken to your cart where you will be able to pay the team fee.
9. Next select the participant you would like to add to your team and follow the process in order to add them to the team.

You should also be given the option to send an email to the other participants on your team that will give them a link to the registration page along with the team code they will need to register. (Check your spam/junk folder. These emails often go to those folders.)

TEAM NAME POLICY

Duplicate team names will not be accepted in the registration system. If your desired team name has already been registered by another team, you will have to select a different name. The Boys & Girls Club of Albany/Hoop Jam reserves the right to reject any name deemed to be inappropriate. Team names that have been rejected will be replaced by the listed coach's last name. (For example, if a team name has been rejected and the coach's name is Dave Miller, the new team name will default to Team Miller.)
