It is
Oregon law that an individual that participates in athletic coaching must complete training annually for recognition of concussion signs and symptoms as well as the medical release requirements for the youth to continue participation in their activity. There are currently two training programs that fulfill the requirements by law. One is through the
National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the other is through the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. Coaches are welcome to use either site, but a copy of the certification must be emailed or delivered to the Athletic Department at the BGCA. Below are the links to each website.
