Register Now for the Fall 2017 Academy Soccer Season!

It is our objective to focus on player development at all levels of play by building their skills, confidence, fitness, and sense of community and teamwork. We are also committed to the development of our coaches through coaching courses, online resources, and learning from more experienced coaches. We promote and encourage a high standard of sportsmanship and fair play.

The Soccer Academy promotes and emphasizes the abilities of our younger players ages 4 thru 9. The focus is on teaching the basics of soccer such as dribbling skills, properly kicking the soccer ball and on turns. As players learn new skills they are awarded patches for demonstrating their new skills. Players practice their skills in a variety of games and activities. All practices and games are at the Lions Club Park off of Bikle Road in Smithsburg.

The academy is divided into age groups:

  • Tots Division: Players born in 2013 or 2014
  • Juniors Division: Players born in 2011 or 2012
  • Seniors Division: Players born in 2009 or 2010

All players are required to wear shin guards. Socks should cover the shin guards at all times, ensuring players protection. Cleats are not required, but players must have tennis shoes. Players are also encouraged to bring water to every session and game.

The Tot division meets one night a week for 45 mins and participates in the last three Saturday games, towards the end of the season. The Junior division meets once a week for an hour and participates in all Saturday games. The Senior division meets twice a week for an hour and participates in all Saturday games.
