Calvert County American Little League

How To Volunteer

This league is fully operated by our dedicated volunteers and without you, this Little League experience would not be possible for the youth in our community. Many volunteer opportunities are available (most don't require any previous experience). Whether you can only help with special activities or can commit more time to the League, you'll have a rewarding experience.

Safety is of the utmost importance to CCALL and Little League International and that requires all volunteers to be registered, background checked, and complete USA Baseball compliance training.

Every CCALL volunteer, regardless of age, must be cleared by a background check to be on a field, in a dugout, or interacting with our players. All approved volunteers should be wearing their CCALL issued photo ID badge at all times. This must be done YEARLY.

To become a Volunteer:

1. Log into your account at the top right of our website.
2. On the left-hand side of your account choose "volunteer"
3. Click "Find Volunteer Roles"
4. Select a role. If you don't want to sign up for a specific role, choose "Volunteer (Non-coach)" to start the clearance process.
5. An email will be sent to the address on file to complete the background check.
6. Return that application and ensure your government issued ID has been uploaded with your registration.

Next Steps:
7. Create a USA Baseball account.
*please attach Calvert County American Little League to your profile.
8. Complete the Coach “A” Certification (REQUIRED for all volunteers)
9. Complete the Coach “B” Certification (RECOMMENDED but REQUIRED for consideration as an All-Star Coach)
10. Complete the Coach “C” Certification (RECOMMENDED but REQUIRED for consideration as an All-Star Coach)

Thank you for your dedication!

Some of the positions or special functions that you can help with:

  • Coach -  Obviously we cannot function without coaches (both head coaches and assistants).  No experience is necessary, and the League can provide a variety of printed and online training materials and ongoing coaching sessions to help you become a better coach! Sign up through the registration/log in link at the top right of this page!
  • Team Parent - Volunteer as a Team Parent to help with team communications (such as practice and game announcements/cancellations), coordinate with other parents for post-game snacks and drinks, help plan a post-season party, etc.  Every team should have a Team Parent to help out.  You can register yourself in the system when you register your child, or let the coach know when the season begins!
  • Board Member - Many opportunities are always available on the Board, whether you spearhead a specific function or assist the rest of the members.  We always have a need for Player Agents (help coordinate the teams and player assignments in a division), Picture/Uniform day coordinators, sponsorships, signs, equipment, handouts, trophies, etc.
