How To Volunteer

Calvert County American Little League is a 100% volunteer-run organization. The success, safety, and integrity of our program depend entirely on the commitment of our volunteers. Without your support, this Little League experience would not be possible for the youth in our community.

There are many volunteer opportunities available throughout the season—most of which do not require prior experience. Whether you are able to assist occasionally with special activities or take on a more consistent role, your involvement is both valuable and appreciated.
That said, safety is non-negotiable. CCALL and Little League International require that all volunteers complete registration, background screening, and USA Baseball compliance training before participating in any league activities. This policy is in place to protect our players, families, and volunteers and is strictly enforced.

Every CCALL volunteer, regardless of age or role, must be fully cleared each year to be on a field, in a dugout, or interacting with players. All approved volunteers must wear their CCALL-issued photo ID badge at all times while participating in league activities. There are no exceptions.

To Become a Volunteer:

1. Log into your account at the top right of our website.
2. On the left-hand side of your account choose "volunteer"
3. Click "Find Volunteer Roles"
4. Select a role. If you don't want to sign up for a specific role, choose "Volunteer (Non-coach)" to start the clearance process.
5. An email will be sent to the address on file to complete the background check questionnaire. This MUST be done within 14 days of receipt or the link will expire
6. Return that application and ensure your government issued ID has been uploaded with your registration.
7. Complete the Little League Abuse Awareness Training
*This training is required and must be renewed every season.
8. Complete the 2026 ID Badge Form to request your ID badge and upload all training certificates.

You are considered a cleared and approved volunteer only after you have been issued your 2026 CCALL ID Badge.
Volunteers who have not completed all required steps will not be permitted to participate in practices, games, or league activities.

Optional Training (Highly Recommended):

All of the below certifications do not expire. If you have previously completed them and submitted certificates to the league, they remain on file. To ensure accuracy, you are welcome to resubmit the certificates. If completed after submission of your ID Badge form, please email certificates to [email protected].

9. Create a USA Baseball account.
*please attach Calvert County American Little League to your profile.
10. Complete the Coach “A” Certification (RECOMMENDED but REQUIRED for consideration as an All-Star Coach)
11. Complete the Coach “B” Certification (RECOMMENDED but REQUIRED for consideration as an All-Star Coach)

Some of the positions or special functions that you can help with:

  • Coach -  Obviously we cannot function without coaches (both head coaches and assistants).  No experience is necessary, and the League can provide a variety of printed and online training materials and ongoing coaching sessions to help you become a better coach! Sign up through the registration/log in link at the top right of this page!
  • Team Parent - Volunteer as a Team Parent to help with team communications (such as practice and game announcements/cancellations), coordinate with other parents for post-game snacks and drinks, help plan a post-season party, etc.  Every team should have a Team Parent to help out.  You can register yourself in the system when you register your child, or let the coach know when the season begins!
  • Board Member - Many opportunities are always available on the Board, whether you spearhead a specific function or assist the rest of the members.  We always have a need for Player Agents (help coordinate the teams and player assignments in a division), Picture/Uniform day coordinators, sponsorships, signs, equipment, handouts, trophies, etc.
