Minnesota Rush REC Philosophy

Minnesota Rush REC soccer program is designed to teach players soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship in an environment where participation and fun are the focus, not competition.

The philosophy of the Recreational Soccer program is to ensure that all youth in Albert Lea and the surrounding communities have the opportunity to learn the game of soccer. The program provides a low-cost, safe and structured soccer experience for all area youth in grades Pre K-4th and can serve as a starting point before moving to more competitive programs.

Albert Lea REC Program Overview

Bringing the Albert Lea Soccer Association under the Minnesota Rush umbrella provides our soccer players in Albert Lea and the surrounding communities more opportunities and resources.  New this year, our REC program will be going outside! We will host practices in local parks with games on Saturdays in Albert Lea.

Albert Lea teams will be formed based on gender for each grade with the possibility of combined grade levels:

  • Kindergartners and 4 year olds- this age group will not travel and it will be COED.

  • 1st/2nd graders

  • 3rd/4th graders

Our REC program is coached by Volunteer Parent Coaches.  Without Volunteer Parent Coaches we do not have a program!  Please consider volunteering to coach your son or daughter.  MN Rush will provide lesson plans, resources, and any other help you might need.  Again, we can not have a program without Volunteer Coaches
