FAQ - PRE-SEASON

What happens after I register my child?

• Teams cannot be formed until registration has closed.  However, we may need to extend the registration period depending on how many players are enrolled in each division.

• Once registration has closed it could take a couple weeks to completed team formations.  Evaluations and drafts must be completed (for the FARM division and above), all registration documents must be collected, and all coaching staff must complete their livescans and background checks.

Please be patient with us!  We want to get to get everyone on the field as quickly as possible, but there is a process we must follow to ensure the safety of our players!

When will I be contact about which team my child is on?

Once teams have been formed and all coaching staff has completed their livescans and background checks, each team Manager will reach out to their families.

PLEASE NOTE
:
Players are NOT allowed on the field until the the completed "Medical Release" has been submitted to their Manager or Team Rep.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

What are Evaluations?

During the Spring seasons only, all players in the FARM division and above (league age 7 and above), are required by Little League® to be evaluated.  This is to ensure they are placed in the proper division based on their skill and abilities.
Please check our website and for watch for emails to see when Citrus Heights Little League will hold their Evaluations (typically in January).

IMPORTANT:  All players must attend 50% of the scheduled Evaluations (i.e. if there are 4 evaluations scheduled, each player must attend at least 2 evaluations).  However, are strongly recommend players to attend all (everyone has their good and bad days).

Players that do not attend the required 50% cannot be drafted and are subject to be placed a wait list.

What is a Player Draft?

•  For the FARM, Minor, Major, 50/70, and Junior divisions (League Ages 8-14), drafts are created for several reasons.  To help distribute more experienced players evenly among the teams, and to ensure each player is placed into a suitable division.  Drafts also help to ensure that teams are created fairly.  Each Manager is allowed to Draft their team but must follow CHLL's Constitution and Standing Rules.  The draft process is overseen by the league's Player Agent(s) and Safety Officer.

•  Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions are formed by the Player Agent(s) and Safety Officer (without a draft).  We try to accommodate all special requests, but there is no guarantee.

•  PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for All-Stars; players must attend and play in 60% of their team's regularly scheduled games.
