FAQ - During the Season
When does the season begin and end?

»» SPRING BALL:
• January - Evaluations, Registration documents are collected.
Please watch for emails from the league and check our website for updates on when and where Evaluations will be held.
• February - Teams are formed and practices will begin.
Managers will reach out to families once teams are formed. Expect to practice 2-3 days per week (including Saturdays); practices are at the Managers discretion and availability of fields.
• March-June – Games typically start in March and end in June.
Managers will send out their team's schedule once it’s been completed. There are typically 2 games a week (including Saturdays); this can vary depending on the Manager & game schedule. Practice days also depend on the Managers and field availability.
»» FALL BALL:
• August- Teams are formed and practices start.
Typically, there isn't a draft during Fall (not as many players register in the fall). The Fall program is designed to ready players for the division they will play that following Spring.
• September - Games typically start in September.
CHLL interleagues during the fall; once all leagues have registered their teams, the league hosting fall ball will make the game schedule and send it out to each league along.
• October - The season usually ends around Halloween.
During fall there are typically 2 games per week (1 weekday game and 1 Saturday game). Practice days depend on the Managers and field availability.
Where/when will games and practices be held?
Times and locations of games and practices cannot be determined until all teams are formed. Unfortunately, we're unable to honor requests to practice and/or play on specific days.
Depending on the division of the player; games and practices will be held at Madera Park, McDonald Field, Westwood Park, and Rusch Park (Garsh Field), see below for field locations.
Also, when needed we may hold practices at local elementary schools such as Carriage, Grand Oaks, Arlington Heights, Lichen and Mariposa Elementary School. We also have practice fields at Sylvan Middle School.
PLEASE NOTE: Locations during the Fall Season may be different.
**IMPORTANT** All locations are subject to change (during spring and fall). Each season CHLL must obtain permits and insurance for every field we use. For insurance reasons teams may only practice and play at CHLL approved/insured locations.
Teams are NOT permitted to use any other location for practices, scrimmages or games. The only exception is going to an indoor facility.
Am I required to Volunteer?
YES! Every family is required to volunteer 10 hours, per player throughout the season.
Most families volunteer by helping out in the snack bar. Some helping set/clean up the field, scorekeeping, umpiring, coaching, field clean up days, events, etc. there are many ways to volunteer!
Please remember CHLL is ran 100% by volunteers! If we don't have volunteers, then we will not have a program for the youth in our community. We teach our kids to work as a team; we must do the same.
