FAQ - Volunteering
Little League® is organization designed to teach our youth to be good citizens while using baseball as a tool. It's a program of leadership and helping to prepare today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. We rely on our parents and families to help us teach them.
CHLL is always looking for responsible and passionate individuals to help support our events and fundraisers; becoming more involved with our league is rewarding in so many different ways!!
You become part of our baseball family, get to know your community members on a more personal level, help and get support from your fellow community members and neighbors, but most importantly - it shows our youth what it means to work as a team and to help others!
The rewards of volunteering are truly boundless!

Why Volunteer?
Citrus Heights Little League (CHLL) is run solely by volunteers. Simply put; we cannot operate without you.
It's important that all families understand that they're expected to volunteer a minimum of approx.10 hours each season - per player. It may seem like a lot, but it goes by very fast, and we don't always need you the full 10 hours.
As a parent or volunteer, you get the chance to spend valuable time with your child in an enjoyable and secure setting. Frequently, the social lives of parents and children run alongside each other. Volunteering provides a point of convergence for your lives, uniting you through common interests and objectives. In many cases, baseball turns into a family event!
Who can Volunteer?
Anyone can apply to become a volunteer!
It's crucial for all families to be aware that they are expected to volunteer for a minimum of approximately 10 hours each season, per player. While this may appear substantial, the time often passes quickly, and the full 10 hours may not always be necessary.
Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Volunteers can be grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more! Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply!
CHLL tries to obtain a “Buy-Out” list of volunteers for each season (a list of volunteers that you can pay to work your snack bar shift). However, often times there are very few people added to the list. You must be 18 or older (unless approved by the Board of Directors).
To be added to the "Buy-Out" list as a worker please reach out to our

As a parent/volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and child social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child's life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals. More often than not, baseball becomes a family affair!
On rare occasions, Little League may revoke the privilege of volunteering from individuals (through District Administrators and the local Board of Directors) for reasons that could jeopardize the safety and/or negatively impact the positive growth of young people, other volunteers, or Little League.
By applying to volunteer, you authorize CHLL to perform the required background checks.
