General Information and Schedules

9-10 Rec Baseball will be playing in the Upper Chesapeake Rec Baseball League.  The league is divided into North and South divisions.  We will be in the North Division playing against teams from Norrisville, North Harford, Jarrettsville, Fallston and possibly Churchville and Hickory.  Games are played on Monday and Wednesday and start at 6pm with a 5:15 arrival time.  No new inning can start after 2 hours from the start of game time.

Players will be supplied with a t-shirt and hat.  Baseball pants, sneakers or plastic/rubber spikes should be worn.  All players need a baseball glove that fits and is soft enough for the player to squeeze shut.  (There are a lot of glove-softening products.  We recommend Hot Glove treatment.)

Proposed League Rules for 2020.

All bats for this league must be stamped with the USA or USSSA labels and cannot exceed 2 5/8" barrel diameter.

The number of registered teams plus managers and coaches contact info must be sent to the league by March 20.  We will have our team drafts shortly after that.  We also need to send schedule requests by then as well, for example, our Opening Day dates, field availability, etc.

Rosters are due to the league by April 20, changes to rosters can be made through May 15.

The final game schedule will be published on April 13.

Our regular game season starts with our Opening Day on April 18.  9-10 plays Monday/Wednesday through May 20.

After the regular season, each team will play 2 seeding games prior to starting the single-elimination tournament bracket.  The end-of-season tournament should be finished by June 13 at the latest, weather permitting.  Some playoff games may be played on Fridays or Saturdays in order to get the tournament finished near the end of the school calendar.

All-star games will be held mid-season, usually on a Saturday or Sunday in May at a host facility to be determined.

April 6th: Draft schedule to program directors

April 10th: Corrections & all coach info (phone #, email, name) due

April 13th: Final schedule posted on website

April 20th: All rosters must be on website

April 20th-May 21st: Regular season games

May 15th: No more changes allowed to rosters (will be locked)

May 26th-May 29th: Playoff Seeding Games

May 30th-June 6th: Bracket Games (could extend to June 13th based on weather)
