PANTHERS - GIRLS 2014

RECAP OF THE SEASON

3rd place CSL Division 2

Panthers were really a surprise for their first year in club soccer. Their progression was noted on their last two games facing 2nd and 1st place team, where they lost in the first half of the season 2-7 and 2-5 and then battled to a tie 0-0 and close loss of 1-2.

COACH CHRISTELLE:
"My best memory is our quarterfinal League Cup game. it was a loss 1-3 against the future winner (who won 7-1 in the semifinal and 6-0 in the final). We knew the opponent was a great team and we decide to use a different formation and played 3-2-1. The girls did AMAZING. Fighting for every single ball and even the scored the last goal of the game. They showed that they never give up. The girls made it worth it to get to a 8:00am game in San Bernardino"

JOSUE CASTILLO - HEAD COACH

Josue has 15 years experience coaching youth soccer. He began with Real California in Camarillo, moved to France and coached there for a few years, before moving back to California and coaching in Newbury Park since 2015. In 2022, his G2009 team was a State Cup finalist. Josue has a US Soccer E license and also holds a French soccer D license.

Josue believes that success will come only with hard work. He tries to be creative in practice and is always looking for new drills. In addition to English, Josue also speaks Spanish and French. In his off time, Josue enjoys dancing, 80s music, and spending time with his two sons.

Personal training: In his training, players will work a lot and learn as fast as they want. Technique is priority with conditioning and a lot of repetition.
