SCAA Baseball aligns our baseball divisions with Little League guidelines and the other Little League North Carolina District 3 associations. The structure builds our program from tee ball through majors/intermediates and then onto a full size field with the Little League junior and senior league program.

Queen’s College Practice 10/27

Queens College is offering a college level practice to our players ages 13-18. The practice will be conducted by the Queen’s Players and overseen by the coaching staff as part of their community service requirements for their players.

Who Should Attend: Players ages 13-18 will be provided with a college style practice and work out. Players who would like a this experience and who might have interest in playing college baseball can see the the way D1 programs practice. Coaches are welcome to attend and perhaps pick up on ideas they would like to bring to their own practices (no fee for coaches)

Overview of SCAA Little League Divisions

Division

Primary Age Group*

Description

Tee Ball

4-6

Entry level division that focuses on fun, fitness, and fundamentals. Players use a softer ball and hit from a tee.

Machine Pitch

6-8

Introduces game-like pitching using a safe and accurate pitching machine to build confidence.

Minors

8-10

Transitions from pitching machine to player-pitch to prepare for Majors/Intermediate level.

Majors/Intermediate

10-12

Most competitive Little League player pitch level before moving to full size field.

Juniors/Seniors

13-16

Traditional baseball on a full-size field used in Middle School, High School, College, and the Pros.

* Review the Little League Age Chart to confirm child’s age for the Fall 2024 season.

Key Dates

 

 

Evaluation dates are August 17th & 24th. Players need only attend one session. Players wanting to evaluate to play up one age-year will be required to attend evaluations for their correct league age group AND the age group they desire to play in. Times for both dates are: 

                Juniors                           9-11a (Field 8)

                Seniors                          11a-1p (Field 8)

                Intermediate             9-11a (Field 4)

                Minors                          11a-1p (Field 4)

                Machine Pitch          1-3p (Field 4)

                Babe Ruth/18U       3-5p (Field 8)

Tee Ball division does not hold evaluations.

There will be mandatory Coaches Training for all head coaches and assistant coaches on Aug 18th times will be in the evening and caches will be separated by age groups

Teams drafted Aug 25th

Parents notified by coach of practice schedule several days after draft
