SCAA SOCCER VOLUNTEERS

COACHING

SCAA  is always accepting coaches for all of our age groups! 

We rely on all volunteer parents, grandparents, and other adult coaches each season to support the demand for our recreational program. Come join us! Discounts available for returning head coach's child. As a coach, you are able to have input on team practice times.
These volunteers aid heavily for a positive experience


Mandatory Pre-Season Coaches Meetings & Field Clinic with the Director of Coaching and other experienced coaches.  

Will be at SCAA Soccer complex clubhouse and followed up a coaches Clinic
 This will include age group coaching clinics, equipment (game ball, cones, bibs), coach shirt as well as a Q&A session.

SCAA  Rec Provides Lesson Plan: The document  provides coaches with weekly lesson plans and guidance. Additionally lessons may be provided via online video links.  Lesson plans include age-specific skills, training activities and drills for the entire season. SCAA Soccer Staff is accessible throughout the season for questions and guidance.

Please volunteer when asked during player registration.
If you need to volunteer after a player is registered, LOG IN to your account and click on the VOLUNTEER TAB, then click on the volunteers  button that says: FIND VOLUNTEER ROLES and follow the instructions! Please do not use the links below!

IF YOU ARE NOT THE PARENT OF A REC PLAYER:
Proceed to the Volunteer registration   page to register to volunteer for the area and age group.
For all questions about practice days, times, locations and game day info, please refer to the detailed age group descriptions under the Soccer tab!

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach,  please review the following requirements:
It is mandatory that all SCAA Coaches pass a background check through the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association and complete the required abuse prevention program.
You must be able to coach approximately 8 weekly 1-hour practice sessions.
You must be available to coach games on primarily Saturdays, with some weekdays and Sundays.
Coordinate team communication or designate a Team Parent at your first practice to handle game reminders and other SCAA  email updates in a timely manner. Once you receive your team roster you must ask for an Assistant Coach to help out with practices and games.

Referee Program

We are excited to announce the referee program from the upcoming season! Parents and / or players can sign up to be a referee for the youth games. Players are limited to U12 players and up. This is due to a required two-division gap to referee a younger group. Discounts / Credits are available to families that volunteers to referee. 
These volunteers will be required to go through the Risk Management Program above an take a free 4-hour training course (online). 

SCAA SOCCER VOLUNTEERS ARE THE BACKBONE OF OUR PROGRAM!!!!
