Coaches have the following game day responsibilities:
1. Understand which team is the “Home” team. The Home team is listed first on schedules. The Home team has the responsibility to provide alternate jerseys or pinnies if there is a jersey color conflict.
2. Officials must be paid on the field prior to the game. The Head Coach is responsible to bring the correct change and pay the Officials. Have the correct change to pay the Referees. Based on how the money is split between the Center and Assistant Referees, we ask that you have
· U08 - $20 per team (2-$10)
· U10 - $23 per team (2-$10, 3-$1)
· U12 - $60 per team (2-$20, 1-$10, 2-$5)
· U14 - $68 per team (3-$20, 1-$5, 3-$1)
3. Ensure that each child gets to play 50% of the game.
4. Clean-up the area around the benches following your game.
5. Tower Park Reminder: NO chairs, strollers, bikes, or food is allowed on the Field or Track area. Water only. NO PETS ALLOWED!
6. Coaches are encouraged to provide feedback to the Club to help us help our Referees improve or simply to call out a job well done. Send feedback to the Referee Assignor at [email protected]. Include the date and time of game, field number, and teams involved so that we can match the game with the Referees.
7. Sideline Management:
General Requirements (All Age Levels)
· Remain in the Team area painted on the field, usually in orange.
· Keep your Team bench area away from the middle of field. The middle of the field is reserved for the Referees and for Substitutions.
· Stay 3-5 yards back from the touch line. Give plenty of room to the Assistant Referees.
· Do not step onto the field during play. Only enter the field when asked to do so by the Center Referee. Don’t run out to tie a shoe, position a
player, etc. Wait for a stoppage and ask permission before stepping on the field of play.
· Keep your parents and spectators away from the end lines (parents/spectators are not allowed behind the goals) and 3-5 yards back from
the sideline.
U8 Exceptions
At the U8 level, CCYSL allows Teams to have a Coach along the sidelines at both ends of the field. If you are going to have a Coach at both ends of the field please make sure you have only one Coach on the opponent's end of the field and stay away from the other Team’s bench. If you only have one Coach on the sidelines do not run / walk all the way up and down the sideline. If you have one Coach on sideline, stay near your bench area.
8. Inclement Weather: 30 minute delay for all thunder or lightning. All players, coaches, officials, and spectators must leave the playing field and seek shelter.

BLOWOUT POLICY:
We do not keep score in Recreational games. Each Coach is expected to utilize the following guidelines during a game in order to avoid a deliberate "blowout" of any team. This is not the responsibility of the Referee to enforce and is a form of good sportsmanship between the Teams. Any questions or concerns around the Blowout Policy should be directed to the league Coaching Coordinator. Any violation reported of the Blowout Policy shall be investigated and reported upon in accordance with league bylaws lead by the Coaching Coordinator, Subgroup Representative from alleged offending team and Vice President.
At any time during which a team goes up 5 goals, the Coach of the higher scoring team should make every attempt to keep the scoring gap from growing. A few common practices are:
- Keeping strong footed players on the defensive side.
- Encouraging players to use "weak" foot
- Increase in passing before shots on goal
- Instruct players to only shoot from outside the penalty box
