ABOUT
The SYA JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) Program introduces athletes to the sport of archery in a fun, safe, and structured environment. Open to all skill levels, this program focuses on proper technique, safety, and personal growth while helping archers build confidence, discipline, and focus. Participants will receive quality instruction from certified coaches and have opportunities to develop their skills at their own pace. Whether trying archery for the first time or looking to improve, SYA JOAD provides a supportive and rewarding experience for all athletes.
Please note this is a co-ed league and all are welcome.

Experience guidelines:
Beginners: This level is open to all participants, with no prior experience required.
Advanced: 3+ seasons of archery with SYA or equivalent program or 2+years of bow hunting

Practices
Practices are generally twice a week and will run for about between 8-10 weeks. Practice schedules will be determined after registration based on the number of archers at each experience level. Practices will be held outdoors at the Leitersburg Ruritan Community Center. Some changes to our schedule may be necessary due to weather and any changes will be communicated as quickly as possible.

What do I need?
Archers will not need to purchase any equipment. All equipment will be supplied by SYA. If you are interested in purchasing your own equipment for outside practice please reach out to Head Coach, Patrick Eckard at [email protected] for recommendations and regulations.

Registration
Registration and payment must be received before the player may begin practice. Registration will end on Aug. 31st. Registration will be locked once we receive 20 athletes at the beginners level and 10 at the advanced level. If we get more interest in volunteers we can increase the size of registrations. SYA will reimburse any volunteers who get their level 1 certification and background check.
Registration cost: $70
