*Players that are entering 7th or 8th grade in the fall and interested in playing field hockey, will play on the high school JV team. If you are looking for more information on the JV program or would like to register please contact coach Nicki Casolari at [email protected]. Please note that the high school has more requirements that need to be fulfilled so we recommend reaching out ASAP if you are interested. Practices will start in late August for this program.

Our field hockey program is for players entering grades 2-8 in the fall and teams are broken down with grades 2-4,  5-6 and 7-8. The program will teach players the basic fundamentals of field hockey and prepare them to continue on into high school if they choose to do so. No previous experience is needed no matter what grade the players are entering. Practices and games are played on weekday evenings & weekends. More specific information on practice and game times will be emailed to those registered when the season gets closer.

Equipment Needed:

• Each player needs their own field hockey stick and it should be clearly identifiable with the players name written on it.  

• Cleats and/or sneakers. 

• Shin Guards

• Rec Dept will provide a uniform for each player and goalie equipment.

If we do not have enough players to have a team in an age group, Holyoke Youth Field Hockey has accepted kids that still want to play.  Sometimes, the high school will have an eighth grade player waiver where those kids will have an option to play high school JV.  That will be communicated by the high school staff once that information is known.
