The Recreation Department offers co-ed wrestling program for kids in grades K-8. The program will expose kids to the fundamentals of the sport of wrestling. Participants will learn the rules of the sport and will be trained to execute the basics techniques while participating in drills, conditioning exercises and related games. The young wrestlers will improve their coordination, balance, endurance and strength. Most importantly the program strives to instill the values of discipline, poise, goal setting, work ethic and sportsmanship.
Practices are held 2-3 times per week. Wrestling matches are optional and must be paid for by the individual wrestler.
Attire: Gym clothes (shorts and T-shirts). Wrestling shoes recommended for tournaments.
