Beginner Swimming Lessons are for anyone ages 3-18. Lessons are 3 weeks long and take place for 60 minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays for a total of 9 lessons. Lessons can take place anywhere from 8am-2pm. Times for the swim lessons are assigned as it gets closer to the session. The number of participants registered determine the times of the lessons; typically there is no more than 10 participants in any time slot.

*Participants must be out of diapers in order to register.

Intermediate/Advance Swimming Lessons are for anyone ages 3-18 who are able to swim the full length of the pool unassisted. Lessons are 3 weeks long and take place for 90 minutes on Tuesdays & Thursdays for a total of 6 lessons. Lessons can take place anywhere from 8am-2pm. Times for the swim lessons are assigned as it gets closer to the session. The number of participants registered determine the times of the lessons; typically there is no more than 10 participants in any time slot.

The Swords Swim Team is not run by the South Hadley Recreation Department.

The Swords Swim Team is a youth sports organization with practices geared towards different age groups and abilities.  The Swords compete in two seasons each year:  during the Winter season (early October through the end of January) as a member of the Pioneer Valley Swim League, and a Spring/Summer Season (late April through the end of July) in the Pioneer Valley Summer Swim League.  Competition is by gender and by age groups.

Adult lap swim is held Monday-Friday at Michael E. Smith Middle School from 5:30am-6:30am. No registration needed you can just show up to swim. Cost is $40 per month.
